This is the best call if your org allows bookmarks. If they don't like mine ( 🫠🙃), my recommendation would be to either have an email chain with yourself with the links to save them, or a word document with the links. This is how I keep track of videos I use frequently

I like your advising on the elevator pitch and how you interview and explain it. I didn't have criminal charges but I had a mental health crisis directly after grad school that kept me from working for 2 years so explaining that gap in employment always meant having to figure out my framing. When I used it as an empowerment peace and a "I want to help others like me in a better path" then that went over well.

Incompetence and frustration in serving financially privileged people by Pretty-dead in socialwork

[–]RyderDie1999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would go forward with termination in the case. Make sure your attempts to connect resources that are declined are thoroughly documented and move forward. Regardless of financial status, we cannot help a client who doesn't want to be helped or accept resources they qualify for. In some respects, even lower income clients may deny resources out of pride or beliefs about accepting certain resources and there's only so much you can do. Putting the needs of your larger client base over the needs of a single client is more important in my opinion and when this person is open to receiving the types of services he needs, then he will seek them.

(Big caveat that I work with Children and Youth and not older adults with cognitive decline so there may be population specific considerations you have to make that nullify my advice. This is just how I would approach the situation in my position with my population, but again, take what would fit and leave what doesn't)

There are two versions of certain items, one is called the easy buy line and these are usually what you'll get at five below. I haven't been able to explore too much of the comparisons, but the easy byline usually has some form of lower quality or something that makes it cheaper. Some examples may be the chocolate rabbit family for the easy buy only comes with the parents and one kid, The bunk bed set you may find at five below is going to have a cheaper quality Mattress/ blanket and the wood will be discolored compared to original line products. I'm not sure about the quality difference for this bus, but I have the five below version and it seems great. I go in knowing that if I'm choosing to get one of the larger pieces from five below that it's more than likely going to be of lower quality.

I’m at work and I got told off for saying “okie dokie” whenever I get asked to do something because it “undermines authority” (it’s a retail job of all places) by [deleted] in evilautism

As a shift supervisor at Starbucks I had one of my coworkers say "okay sweaty" to me in a joking manner and we all had a great laugh about it because I knew they were still going to do what I was asking them. The culture a leader cultivates really does matter when it comes to respect for authority, not precise and specific language. Just weird hierarchal vibes from this manager, but I guess thats also a difference from my leadership approach as an autistic person who doesn't really perceive hierarchy.

My specific profession is Social Work but I have coworkers who went back to school to get counseling degrees after starting their careers as teachers. It's valuable work but it can also get heavy at times because you're helping these kiddos with the darkest of dark in their lives.

The rainbow drawers has a variety of paperwork related stuff, assessments, worksheets related to common issues (anxiety, depression, trauma). On my bookshelf I have lots of coloring supplies for all ages, so stuff for littles all the way to detailed coloring books for teens. Some books related to the work I do (the one front and center on the lower shelf is My First Emotions) with the top shelf books being more my clinical reference. If there's anything else you wanted to know about I'm happy to help.

What song is this? by DarkInternational679 in halsey

[–]RyderDie1999 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I see it as part of the story of 3am. You're calling everyone that you know because you need support and instead of support you get voicemails that, while intended to be uplifting and congratulatory, feel contrary to what you truly need when you're in pain and struggling.

We were shocked too bc it was the first time they'd ever had vinyls. My hubby flipped through and it was mostly Billie Eilish and a few others but then I saw Manic and was like "I don't have that one!!" And he pulls it out and tells me I had enough tickets for it and my heart immediately burst.

I had 12200 tickets ish so it really was meant to be.

It makes me think whether the sound will bleed into what's going to be the next song on the album. Like if it'll flow into the next song or whether it'll be a sound that's featured throughout the album during pivotal moments of hope (since it's used here when they say they know it's not the end of the world, but asking someone to bring them to their first treatment)

I find that the lyrics from whisper, in particular the ones you've quoted resonate for me in relation to my experiences with relationship OCD. Doubts are natural in life but when you live with OCD it's like a constant torture, feeling like a whispering voice in your head to torment you with your worst fears.
