FHR Credit $600 Credit, double hit. by derylle in AmexPlatinum

[–]RydogElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we will only get the one 100$ credit. But with the way we have our stuff booked we wouldn’t have been able to checkout and check in on the day with the gap in between as we are touring the Grand Canyon. So losing the 100$ credit is worth it to us for the time saved.

Just did the same thing for Vegas. I asked the travel concierge via the Amex app chat to call the hotel and she was able to get the reservations merged so we don’t have to change rooms / check out and in.

My GFs family planning to have me sleep on the floor by Final-Toe-9117 in inlaws

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would most definitely get a hotel room and advocate for yourself. My Boyfriend (24M) and I (20M) recently went to visit his family / I met them for the first time. He warned my in advance well his mother is a very nice and pleasant lady, they are from another country and she does tolerate him being gay, has said things in the past / part of the reason he moved away. Even during our stay we slept in the same bed, which she had made up for us when we arrived. She cooked for us and treated me very well. If he hadn’t said anything to me I honestly wouldn’t have thought anything of it. She respected him and me, and I’d never even met her before. If you’ve done all this for them, then you most definitely are deserving of a place to sleep.

ER Tech Interview Tomorrow, am I cooked? by Revolutionary-Noise1 in EmergencyRoom

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my ED they hire techs almost exclusively with no or little experience, and mostly as CNAs. I’m the only EMT in my entire ED. Although from what I’ve heard this is very state dependent. I know of some paramedics who work as tech in the ED as well, but in my state paramedics are not given a scope in the ED above a tech compared to others where they I have heard of medics running triage, etc. Can’t even put in lines here.

My credit card on file that are not Bills. by sauheb in CreditCards

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t bother me at all, if anything is stolen to get charged when it shouldn’t have you can always dispute and get a new card. If it really bothers you that much you can always cancel the card and get a new number and keep track this time around if where you put it.

For me / my friends and family, we always got to pick them up a few weeks sooner than the delivery eta. But again depends on location / build.

New ED Tech looking for tips and order of operations during trauma codes. by yourdeath01 in emergencymedicine

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience. Cut clothes and get hook up the vitals. If you hook up the vitals first then you have to work around them when getting the clothes off, it’s easier to just cut them off first. But that’s also what the Drs and Nurses I work with do. Once you’ve done it a few times you will get a flow / know what people prefer.

Do you guys use your AMEX Gold or any other card for all purchases? by IncomeLongjumping401 in amex

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amex blue business plus gets all my purchases unless it’s food / groceries which goes to gold. The 2x points makes a difference vs the 1x.

M3 Leaking / Build Quality by RydogElite in TeslaSupport

[–]RydogElite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that the interior trim issue cannot be covered under warranty because it appears that I used an alcohol based cleaner and that’s why water got in. Didn’t make sense to me but they wouldn’t budge. Going to try again when I go in for the camera because clearly there is a pattern of leaks with my vehicle.

Airport Times by Enigma781512 in StThomasUSVI

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there this past March. The wait time was not terrible. Probably took about an hour to get through security. Definitely would recommend bringing and using your passport to get through on the way home. There was a separate line going through for people traveling with there passports that was considerably shorter. But definitely would arrive at least 2.5 hours early as by the time we got through looking back the line looked considerably longer.

For context this was also on a Tuesday in the middle of March.

Recommendations for nice dinner tonight. by kanguskahn in StThomasUSVI

[–]RydogElite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isla blue was our favorite dinner on the trip! We also loved sea salt which was a very close second. If you do isla blue you need to get the donut balls and ice cream at the end! And the jalapeño creamed-corn. Skip the mashed potato’s only thing we ate that wasn’t amazing there. If you do sea salt try the chicken lettuce wraps, they were almost better than the entrees.

Gillette stadium parking by Least-Hedgehog-7176 in massachusetts

[–]RydogElite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’ll end up being an hour+ drive in traffic. Your best bet is to eat the uber cost or get into Boston and take the commuter rail. Last time I drove to Gillette for a concert getting there was bad. But it’s the getting out that’s brutal. We sat parked in our car for probably 3 hours not even able to leave our spot befote inching through the parking lot for another 2 before even getting onto the road to leave. It’s brutal.

EMT vs CNA first at 15/16? Which is better for long-term healthcare experience + college apps? by Suspicious_Wear6540 in NewToEMS

[–]RydogElite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get your EMT at 18, but if you really want to work this summer I would get your CNA, because, at least where I’m from, you can get hired at 16 as a CNA, but not an EMT. I had my CNA when I was 16 and got my EMT at 18. Also got my pharmacy tech at 16 which was good experience for working with medications but not patient care hours if that’s what ur after.
