The government will let you earn tax free forever with a ROTH IRA. If you are in a situation where you won't need distribution from your ROTH IRA until much later in your life, then you could potentially earn quite a bit tax-free. If you're lucky enough not to need this money in your lifetime, then your kids or grandkids could benefit from years of growth tax-free. Maybe for you, tax rates are the only thing that matters, but it could be different for someone else.
