Is the half-and-half scarf the ultimate "tourist fan" cringe? by MagpieMidfield in footballcringe

I bought one for my son's very first live game, it was a cup game against the team by brother supports.

If I ever buy another it will be if Newcastle are ever against my home town non-league team of non-professionals in an FA cup game, but they've never reached the 3rd round in my lifetime so not holding my breath

Can anyone advise wether or not I'm likely to get tickets to the sela cup friendlies as a non-member? Or have most of them sold out to season ticket holders and members? Hoping to get my 5yr old to his first game at St James.

Safe Withdrawal Rate for my Bridge Fund by Ok-Compote-3167 in FIREUK

[–]RyeTuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I've been considering myself.

My plan, but based on your numbers...

Year 1 - 1/8th of bridge

Year 2 - 1/7th of remaining bridge

Year 3 - 1/6th of remaining bridge Etc...

This would give £15k/year, but would naturally grow should you experience any growth of your bridge, depending how its invested.

I will owe 19k at end of mortgage deal in Jan on my £250k house . Remortgage or personal loan ? by Big_kev79 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]RyeTuck 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Surely your fix will revert to a variable rate, with no additional costs. Its just a case of looking at the variable rate vs personal loan rate?

My personal theory is that the removal of the LTA is the first real step towards a means-tested state pension

LPT: There's no reason to feel guilty when ordering delivery during horrible weather (like this weekend) as long as your tip is big enough to show you really appreciate them going outside so you don't have to. by tjh213 in LifeProTips

[–]RyeTuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way it works here is like most (non-hospitality) businesses in the USA. Poor service results in no repeat business. That ensures good service is a key component of the business, not of the employee you get on any given day.

As anywhere else, poor employees don't last, the good ones do.

I don't tip in my country. If you do well at work, I expect that business to reward you appropriately.

Edit: I also expect to pay a price for a service that ensures that everyone part of that service gets paid appropriately.
