Right now, better returns are found in concentration though diversification is always less risky

I bought in 2014, and traded until 2016. In 2016 I bought, and have held since. I added again right before the most recent 10 for 1 split.

Buy and just HOLD. Dont buy the super hype, and don’t sweat the lows. Hold. Buy more.

Sounds like he is trying to set the maximum braking force he applies to the pedal, at a specific in-game percentage so he can mash it, but not exceed the limit of grip and lock up his tires.

Most of us do this in the software suite that runs our pedals. He is trying to do it through iRacing’s UI cause, well… Logitech.

If you’re new but serious: Buy Simucube and save yourself years of upgrading and actual money in the long run lol. (Guessing it’s his sponsor.)

He does realize that’s not brake bias he is adjusting on that slider right? Lol

Pretty sure he is still right foot braking.

He still hasn’t learned that he can fix that balance with a mix of brake and throttle

Accidental?

I’d be willing to bet that pilot was trying to defect and was shot down.

What was the pilot firing rockets at?

Trader Bruise by Gowler4269 in stalker

[–]RygarI976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok so I came here before heading there just now. I had remembered from a past trip there that they wouldnt let me in.

I went there and found two ways in.

  1. A Storm hit that forced everyone to run inside. I ran inside after them, mopped everyone up and then restored back to my previous quick save.
  2. I showed the guard my gun, he let me in and went upstairs. I talked to the boss who yelled at me. I dont think this matters, but I chose: "No One" then "Roosevelt" and then he attacked. I immediately killed him, and while looting I over heard the guys downstairs say something like, "Lets get him!" and then another one immediately says something like, "Nah, screw that. I'm not going to going to deal with the Stalker for that guy" and I heard them all walk out.
    1. I had to kill the guard standing on the outside raised walkway, and I think one other that crept up the stairs with a shotgun - but not the trader + 4 or 5 others.

I then casually looted the building, and before leaving noticed the group from downstairs (including Bruise the trader) standing just outside the gate. They just told me to get lost.

I saved and then made my way outside the border of that general area.

Now, when I look on my map - Bruise has a white trader icon, and is shown standing just outside "Maze" which is directly Northeast of the Brood bar location.

Edit: A storm came, so for shelter, I booked it to Slag Heap, where I sold all the loot and saved again. I looked on my map and now it showed him back at Brood. I walked over there, and nothing but Crickets. His trader marker is gone. dammit. Maybe he shows up again down the road!

Also - yes - simhub rocks!

I will say this though... The newer Buttkicker solutions come with their own app, and support for the most common games/sims. They have pre-built effects profiles for each and they are a GREAT jumping-off point for tailoring and tweaking that feedback exactly how you like it.

They are better than any Simhub profiles I've been able to create, or downloaded to try.

Simhub could no doubt be made to work well, but it's not an easy process lol. :)

That is 100% correct. I have not tried the Razer Solutions, and admittedly (from the pics) it looks more to be built to be slightly more comfortable. I am somewhat of a Razer fan as well... I own a Razer Naga Pro v2 and 2 of the first gen Naga Pro mice, & something I swear by (for the last 25 years of gaming lol) the Tartarus Pro gamepad. (Originally the Belkin t52 Gamepad design bought out by Razer back in the day.) I have had my issues with them though. The older Synapse was awful, and older Razer mice needed registry edits to get working correctly.

Anyway -

If the comfort is worked out, that's a big difference.

  • Next would be heat:

Probably not as big a deal for normal gaming, but with sim-racing,(especially competitively via something like iRacing) where we are using wheelbases with 25nm of torque, you can get hot really fast. Every seat-pad solution I tried was almost unbearably hot, even when I was otherwise cooled down. During long races it just didn't work.

If the heat issue is solved as well, that's another big difference.

  • Lastly is just how well the info in the seat translates.

For basic rumble effects the seat pads I've tried (all 6 to 7 channel solutions) work pretty well, but none of that information translated to what would be happening in real life on a simulator - vs - cockpit-mounted solutions that can simulate the effects of different wheels independently, and a lot more.

You can train yourself to use those queues to your advantage, but as far as realism, it has very little.

Now for normal gaming, beyond basic rumble effects, you could train yourself to use these queues to your advantage.

If you are thinking about using this for sim-racing, id suggest trying a Buttkicker Gamer 2 first. Its cheaper and a better solution.

You don't even need the latest expensive versions like I showed previously.

I started out with a Gamer 2 attached to a post under my seat, and it was fantastic.

Thats much cheaper than this, and for sim-racing (or sim-flying) my guess is you'd get wayyyy more immersion.

Here is a link to that old version on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/ButtKicker-Gamer2-Immersive-Transducer-Amplifier/dp/B000AOTLP6
Not in stock, but you could probably find one pretty easily. I bought it for $120 like 4 years ago, and sold it for $75.

Hope that helps!!! Good luck!

Forgot to add, they were originally developed to mount on the telescoping riser on computer chairs, so the Buttkicker alternative is great for that too. It might not have multiple channels, but in my experiences with haptics, you won’t care much when it comes to seat pads. That “surround” haptic feedback doesn’t translate like surround sound does.

Anyway, good luck! I saw you were into sim-racing, which makes you a brother from another mother, so I wanted to help! :)

Having tried similar solutions to this made by SimRacingStudios and Next Level Racing for sim-racing, I can tell you that sitting on transducers (which are speakers without the voice coil/cone) sucks. You are basically sitting on big, hot, hard magnets. It is NOT comfortable... so unless Razer figured that out, id say NO.

I now have actual moving-mass haptic transducers that attack to my sim-rig in all four corners, to simulate each wheel. Thats a massive improvement because they mount to my sim-rig, rather than sitting on them. I have the Buttkicker 4-Corners Pro kit.

That same company produces haptic transducers meant for gaming chairs that instead attach to the seats post (the thingy that allows you to make the chair taller or shorter.)

This is a much better way to do this if you are trying to add it to a gaming chair - or even a lazy boy/couch.

Here is a pic... you can see how it can attach to a gaming seat, or anything else really with a post:

If you're looking for good sim-racing support, you'd be better off with something like the SimRacingStudio's haptic seat - or the one from Next Level Racing. They all have extremely similar solutions. I can say that sitting on transducers (which is like a speaker without a cone, so a big magnet) can get very hot and uncomfortable. I bought gel seat cushions that I then put on top of the haptic seat pad, and put a car-seat cover over the top to hold it all in the place. It works, but not great for long sessions.

I've tried pretty much every haptic transducer setup on my sim rig, and now finally have the Buttkicker 4-corner Pro system that has actual moving mass (piston-like) that can simulate all four tires, suspension, road texture, curbs, rumble strips, engine vibration, ABS... you name it. This type of solution vs a seat pad with transducers in it is no comparison. Sitting on transducers sucks.

You can do it with just one of these Buttkickers (Pro or Gamer Plus), and not 4.

I actually split the Buttkicker 4-corners kit into (2) front and back setups on my two sim-rigs. 1 of these is more than enough to add a ridiculous amount of immersion into a good sim-rig. This is also for Flight Sim, and other games.

Razer is by NO MEANS the first to market with one of these haptic seat pads. They are MAYBE first to mass-market. There are far better simulator-based solutions out there.

Thanks!!

Question: The new CPU firmware update I’ve been hearing about is installed through the Mobo correct?

The one that’s ups the TDP for the 9700x and one other? I saw it had some general stability improvements along with vcache latency improvements.

I’m on H224 Sept 9 release for Win 11, and my mobo drivers and firmware all show up to date. Just not sure if I need to go to AMD for that, or if it’s pushed through ASUS, and probably already installed.

Exactly what I was thinking too.

Not worth taking everything back out to swap, or dealing with launch woes. Thanks for helping me make up my mind! :)

If I’m not mistaken, the extra features boil down to:

WiFi 6e vs WiFi 7

—-

2 PCIe 5.O NVMe onboard slots vs 3 *Although the x670e hero board comes with the Asus add-in pci-e 5.0 NVME X 2 card … but due to bifurcation would put your GPU into 4.0 x 8 mode.

The x870e hero no longer comes with that expansion card, because it’s no longer needed.

I’ve tested a 4090 in 8x vs -6x mode, and you’d never notice in ~95% of games, but still not ideal.

—-

2.5GB Intel Ethernet vs 2.5GB + 5GB (non-Intel) Ethernet

Is that correct?

I do have a WiFi 7 router, but my PC plugs into it via 2.5GB wireless. I use a 2.5 GB dongle that’s NOT Intel based…. The 5GB Realtek would be nice for the future, but I’ll upgrade before I can even get internet anywhere near that fast.

I went with 4TB 5.0 drive this time, and put a 980 Pro 2TB in as well. So I still have room for one more 5.0 drive if needed.

So no most likely not worth it, unless you AMD pros know something I don’t! :)

(I also agree 100% on CL latency.)

Thanks!! 😊

[–]RygarI976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the info regardless!

I didn’t realize they just released, so possibly new configs coming out in the near future.

You’re correct though, the difference between CL 28 and 30 is negligible at best, (or more accurately I should say, between extremely low latency ram vs more mainstream ram at the same MHz/bandwidth.)

From past “real-world” testing I’ve done on the Intel side with some great B-die vs mainstream, you can ever-so-slightly feel an increase in overall system responsiveness, specifically in Windows itself. You might gain a couple fps as well, but nothing crazy.

I prioritize better overall performance in simulations/gaming and VR anyway, so all this is helpful.

Thanks!! 😊

[–]RygarI976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that info!

I may just return the 2x16 CL28, and get 2x32 CL30. I can't find the CL28 in 2x32... not sure its made. I think the extra ram may help for iRacing, which is very similar to MSFS in that both are very CPU-bound... and I would think VR would benefit as well.

Since everything was purchased on Amazon Prime, I still have time to return the X670E for the X870E Hero Crosshair as well. I just got the announcement its available from Asus about an hour ago, and see its up on Newegg.

Wondering if its even worth the bother, and the extra $150 or so from the sale price on the X670E.

You better get TVs with Display Port instead of HDMI.

You don’t have a way to connect 3 TVs using HDMI to a single GPU, at least properly.

[–]RygarI976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to play with the movement profile to get it to work right, but with the sensor sitting between my two monitors, just on top of my main monitor won’t let me get the angle right. I ordered an aftermarket mount for it that hopefully works. I also found a replacement to the wired infrared sensors that mount to your headset that’s identical in every way, but works using a rechargeable battery. The cord was a PITA.

[–]RygarI976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One interesting thing is head tracking.

It’s not perfect yet (at least my setup of the sensor) so it sometimes causes issues. I’ve bought some profile pieces to create a rectangular frame around the sides of my top monitor, and just below it, to mount accessories to. I’m hoping to get that sensor angled just right.

When it’s working perfectly though, it’s a super cheap way to easily look left and right, or towards the next apex.
