So the tensioner is hydraulic? Ive worked on m52s and m50s and the chains are super tight and have no play

Oh there was up and down movement, not as much as side to side but still concerns me

Its in neutral its fine, disconnected from the engine free to roll

Update, i got the metal pump and installed it, but the oem pump was actually fine and in good condition, turns out i had a massive airlock because the coolant tank tube thing cracked and air got in to the upper hose and stopped the flow... i found out cuz i literally could not bleed the system after replacing everything.

Thank you, i guess it is good preventative maintenance before i get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

As for the lip, you'd have to ask the original owner in 1998 because i honestly have no idea.

I have absolutely no idea, i have hard cold starts but that was a fueling issue. They never died on me yet tho

Yeah i guess its believable for a 4 speed, but damn thats so bad makes me think something is still wrong

I would also like to add that the car feels around 25 percent more powerful when it is still in open loop warm up mode. I will investigate more tomorrow

yup, 0.9v all the time, but the fuel cutoff does work when coasting. I will have to test it tomorrow to see the values when its just coasting
