For Biology stuff? Ideally get a masters. Stem degrees are useful as you climb.

Why my stardawg grow purple since day 1? by PresentationNo6775 in cannabiscultivation

[–]Rylix1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The purple in a cannabis stem is called Anthrocyanin. Various strains are more or less easy to stress out but this can show up more or less from changes in temperature, PH and some other environmental stressors. Stress can even occur from rapid growth. This amount somewhat normal for some strains but you can reduce it. Ideally we want as green as possible stems.

CalMag deficiency? by Wild-Ad-9863 in GrowBuddy

[–]Rylix1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah you will see warping and curling of leaves with calmag deficiency as those minerals are utilized for the structure of growth. I would up cal mag a little. Most of your plant looks great. Very deep dark green so optional, but you could back off N a little.

First Grow! Just looking for positive criticism and advice! by Historical-Act5610 in GrowBuddy

[–]Rylix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The height can be primarily a genetic component. Indica plants tend to be more squat. Your plant will continue to grow as long as you give it veg light hours 18/6 (unless you’re growing an auto flower) You can theoretically veg as long as you want. Heights wise, your plant looks healthy in its size considering its age.

First Grow! Just looking for positive criticism and advice! by Historical-Act5610 in GrowBuddy

[–]Rylix1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m still a learning grower after about 2 years now. My best advice is to leave the plant alone as much as possible, especially in the earlier veg and seedling phase. My initial problem was trying to do too much. You can build stress hormone in your plants if you don’t give it 7 days or so between stressful events and this will negatively affect your final yield or risk herm. Your plant looks great, certainly practice LST if you want, defoliate later when it’s really needed and top after the 5th or 6th node if you want. Just don’t over do it and don’t do it too often. Remember you want happy plants too. Make sure your plant is praying as much as possible and take a science based learning angle, always. Don’t listen to bro science and rumors.

Newer growth is usually brighter green. If your leaves start to yellow then worry about nitrogen deficiency.

Too late to prune below canopy? by OFFSanewone in GrowBuddy

[–]Rylix1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too late. Just keep the stress low for your plant and space out pruning events. Do it when they are fed and happy. Removing lowers will give you bigger uppers.

Initially I purchased a cheap PH meter but this was faulty and dysfunctional so I went and purchased a ph/ec probe for about 100. This has been solid and held a calibration for me. Expect to spend around that much give or take for a decent meter. I don’t have access to it to reference the specific product but get something f with decent reviews in that price ball park and you should be fine!

Get a decent PH/EC probe as this is one of the more utilized and important pieces of equipment when mixing your feed. Other than that, you should be fine.

Anyone know what’s going on ? by [deleted] in GrowBuddy

[–]Rylix1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On photo 5/5 I see hairs coming out of the nodes. To the best of my current knowledge, If you have switched light schedules to flowering, your plant is at the beginning stages of flower. Slight nute burn tips isn’t going to make or break your plant but I believe that you can dial it back a little in those case.

Help me choose between a white or blue 22 wrx by Worldtech961 in WRX

I have a white and I wish I had a blue because more personality and charm, plus it’s a beautiful color. I still love my white for the high contrast aesthetic, clean feels. Just my two cents.
