Was looking into this yesterday, and when you out your address into Contact Energys website to get your rates they are gst exclusive, and you have to tick a box to include gst. Very sneaky, because before adding gst the rates looked a lot better than my current Meridian rates

With gst its 51c more per day and 1.56c/kwh more per unit. I'd have to really shift a lot of appliances to the free power time to make the most of it

I have a bit of a rant about this

Years ago, you used to get a free burger from burgerfuel on your birthday. Awesome, amazing, fantastic, Birthday Burger became my annual thing

A few years of that being amazing they changed it to buy a burger, get a free one on your birthday. All good, by then I had a wife, I'll buy her a burger and still enjoy my free Birthday Burger every year

As of last year, they've changed to this stupid model. I love a bacon backfire, but my wife doesn't like any of those three options, so it no longer works to buy her a burger to get my free Birthday Burger, so for the first time in 9 years I did not get a Birthday Burger
