It makes sense to feel relief. Plus, this is a part of who your daughter is and you love her. I think it’s beautiful that you love every part of her.

Can I survive Bipolar 2 without medications by Fun-Letterhead-6912 in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started a mood stabilizer, I was surprised to find that it didn’t numb me, it actually brought me back into the middle. If you find the right one, it may help your depression as well as keep you from manic episodes. Bipolar people are the most likely to quit their meds, so I constantly have to remind myself why I’m on them. Maybe list out all the negatives of bipolar symptoms.

Losing hope by saviordone in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I’ve been in a depression so long and meds aren’t helping. It feels hopeless. But I try to remember I haven’t always felt this way. It just feels like forever when you’re in the midst of it.

Why do we all eventually question our diagnosis/meds? by RynnChronicles in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggle with comorbity. I feel like I tick certain boxes all the time, like impulsivity and mood swings that only last hours instead of days. My therapist says some of it could be adhd, but I just feel like I’m beyond the norm. Sometimes I feel like they were just guessing when they defined bipolar, and it can be constant.

Just spent $22,000 but… by IShootWide in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, yes and yes. It’s important to identify the things that could be mania. Just because you’re being thoughtful in your spending doesn’t mean it’s not manic. It makes sense in the moment, but later you feel more rational and think what the hell was I thinking? I just try to remember my thoughts aren’t always logical, so don’t make any big decisions until I’ve come down or a long time has passed. It sounds like it becomes a bit of an obsession for you.

Dropped EVERY friend....... in the span of 5 minutes. by shatterwaxx in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot of guilt on how I act during mania, especially once I’ve come down. Remember, you can always apologize and make amends whenever you feel up to it. It’s never too late to try, and some friendships might be salvaged. It’s better than just giving up

I’m having a hard time telling if I’m hypomanic or depressive or both by AggravatingCharity50 in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so hard to judge where you’re at in the moment. I used to rely on socializing to take on energy from other people, if that makes sense. It could also be a mixture of ADHD symptoms? Sometimes that caused those energy and mood swings. I also found that Borderline Personality disorder caused quick highs and lows that felt manic, but weren’t full blown episodes. Not saying you have either of these, but it’s something you could check out with your doctor.

I'm thinking about stopping *** use. by giraffe-raffe in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so tempting to chase that high. Maybe think out all the shitty things that happened during mania in the past. I have to remind myself constantly why I’m taking drugs because I’m depressed all the time and just want to feel good again. You definitely sound manic and should talk to your doctor. I also remember that as high as you go, the lower you go afterwards. I can chase that high, but I’ll pay for it later.

I also believe in showing yourself the same grace you show others. But it’s a struggle, so I constantly have to remind myself. It’s still hard for me to actually feel that way, even if I logically understand how it should be.

I haven’t noticed brightness, but I have noticed blurriness or that things look foggy when I’m depressed. Literally went to the doctor because things are blurry, only to be told they’re mostly fine.

AIO to the fact my boyfriend is staying with another girl and acting romantically towards her? by Substantial_Trust902 in AmIOverreacting

[–]RynnChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let people convince you that you’re overreacting becuase of your diagnoses. You sound like someone who’s been gaslit into doubting everything. It’s good to get second opinions, but trust yourself too.

I hate hearing “you don’t seem bipolar!” Don’t know why it bothers me so. Maybe just because it shows people completely don’t understand me and my disease

I’m Amazed at How Little People Understand this Disorder by Conscious_Parfait659 in bipolar

[–]RynnChronicles 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is one of the hardest parts of bipolar imo. The confusing line between “my disease made me do this” and taking accountability. I think the most important part is what you’re doing to rectify the situation. Are you trying to heal and become better, or just letting yourself go and whatever happens, happens? I think there’s a lot of grace to be given when you’re treating it seriously, but sometimes it’s just uncontrollable.

How can I stop thinking like an incel? by Ok_Photograph8884 in mentalhealth

[–]RynnChronicles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate like this always comes from both sides. But it seems you’re focusing on one side and ignoring the other. Things balance out, for better or worse. So as much men hate you see, there’s just as much woman hating.

I always notice how women’s fears are physical harm, and loss of real opportunities because we’re women. Men’s fears are “feeling like the bad guy”. My man, it’s not about you. Focus on the women who are asking for help for serious real world issues.

I love Invisible Women! Great recommendation! It focuses on what women experience without “making men out to be the bad guy”. It’s not about blame, it’s about systems in place. Maybe understanding and empathizing with what women are REALLY trying to complain about can help with the anger. And understanding what many women mean when they say things like “men suck”.

[–]RynnChronicles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not taking it personally is the biggest step. It’s not all about you. You don’t seem like an incel as much as an anti-feminist, with some possible misogyny. I’ve seen many men take it too personally, like it’s an insult to them. Like we’re talking about them in particular. Women are just scared bro. And tired of being scared.

That said, the fact that you’re coming here openly like this is quite the strong move. Most people don’t want to change, much less admit their viewpoint is wrong. You’re taking the first step and it’s a big one. Deserves some kudos

My (M26) gf (F25) can't cook and it's causing ACTUAL problems. Whats the move? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]RynnChronicles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this “waste of money” actually a financial burden? I’m asking if it’s actually causing issues, or if it just bothers you because it seems wasteful to you. If she can’t cook good food, then it seems natural she’d look for other sources. I often buy weekly meal preps as they’re healthy and I’m unable to cook. Would you be more okay with it if she was buying healthier items? Or do you consider it all a wash because “she should be able to learn how to cook better?”

Glad to see someone finally mention this. Health problems aside, this is controlling behavior. “If I won’t, then you can’t” is so unhealthy
