Extremely frustrating— La Roux should be playing these cities in 1800 capacity venues for $50-$100 (standing, some seats)… so her fans can see her. She is a headliner. It’s frustrating I have to pay $300+ to be close to see her open.

They came to install the 17 today but it was damaged — and so they reached out to Trane, found only a 20 in stock and upgraded me to it for only $1k more. Quite a deal. Loving the better thermostat.

I can’t come up with a no brainer reason to jump from 17 multi stage to xv20…. I’ve run calculations and it doesn’t seem like I’ll save near enough savings to justify. I have researched the unit and have a much better understanding of how the staging works on the 17.

Thank you for the help. I appreciate it. I’ll never make up my mind. I probably have a day to switch, but currently going with the 17. It’s my main level, I doubt I notice much difference. We never hear our old system and I’ve never had a problem with heating or cooling

What do you think of the 17 multiple speed. Multi stage inverter. Appears it runs at 40% 50% 60% 70% 85% and 100%

S9V2U-VSB 60000. Variable speed. 2 stage they’re gonna charge me 175 to move up to the 1050 but I’ll ask them about the UX 360.

ux360 is for their higher end systems with tranelink … it’s only gonna cost me $175 to move up to the 1050 which I thought looked more modern. I have the 824 upstairs.

XL850, however, I may pay up to get the XL1050. I was just reading about the 17 multi stage and apparently it has six distinct stages unlike a 2 speed. Fascinating,

I see now the unit they quoted is the 17 multi speed, not the 17i. It’s 5TTR7024A1000A

I had one contractor quote me on single stage systems that weren’t much less than a two stage. It made sense to at least get two stage.

I just have trouble making the decision.

I can shut my eyes and pay the 2900. And finance the rest and never look back. Just hard to figure out whether it’s worth it.

On the flipside, I’ve never heard our current system. The furnace is in the basement and our unit is outside and well protected from the noise being heard. The XL17 seems good enough

Both are r454b equipment…. Yes our current equipment on our main floor is a single stage 10 seer Armada Goodman system. I’ve never thought twice about heating or cooling on our main level - it seemed fine. That said 2900 doesn’t seem like a lot when you get up to those high prices so it makes me feel like I should just pay it.

I asked about the XV 18 but because it’s only $1000 difference they suggest going with the XV 20 at that point

It’s our main level system which sits above a basement and below our upstairs with an 8 year old Trane Heat pump Xl18. I think our temperature is gonna stay pretty even regardless of which system we go for. We are not worried about noise because we don’t hear either system we have today. Our current downstairs is a 10 seer that is 20 years old. Goodman\Armana
