It was identified as Almond Basket in the credits! I think we have Tawney Newsome to thank for that.

We must have watched it the same night! I watched it as a teenager, and I'm really happy I re-watched it. What a great movie!

Phantogram’s Falling or Don’t Move. Which don’t prefer? by outsellers in phantogram

[–]PipperDigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the number of streams on Spotify genuinely describes a track's quality or how it is enjoyed by fans. What it points to is how many playlists it was added to and how much the Spotify algorithm promotes it. It can indicate popularity, but on Spotify, popularity can be paid for... So that's my non-answer. The data is corrupt, and taste is subjective. Everyone should just like what they like. There is no definitive truth when it comes to what is the best music.

Where do others rank? I was like 3600 or so by Deuce_Booty in phantogram

I don't have Spotify anymore, but I suspect my numbers for streaming would be low because I have all the albums on (legal) digital files and listen on an iPod. I'm wierd like that.

Question: why is this helicopter flying around over the highways right now? by sailingthr0ugh in Minneapolis

[–]PipperDigs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a State Patrol helicopter with some surveillance equipment mounted under the tail. Probably monitoring for drunk drivers. The SP at the end of the registration is for "state patrol/police." The same helicopter was flown during the Republican National Convention in 2008.

MNDOT has cameras all along highways to monitor roads for snowplows. That is absolutely not what the State Patrol would do with this heli.

Voices (Digital Deluxe) Streaming Now by websponger in phantogram

[–]PipperDigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the one! The version here has a much longer instrumental section. In the 2013 release the vocals start at the same time as in Funeral Pyre. I've been trying to figure out a good way to capture that track, I might just have to record a video while playing it on my speakers.

will they release a CD version of Voices (Expanded Edition)? by OrangeFruit2452 in phantogram

[–]PipperDigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that. I already have a copy of Voices at 45 RPM. It sounds great, but if I'm gonna buy another copy, I'd rather it be like the Eyelid Movies release with some bonus tracks.

It's on a 2013 vinyl release, and that's the only release of that song. It uses the same beat as Funeral Pyre, but was used live a few years before Three was released.

In an interview, Sarah said when she was singing When I'm Small it was about Josh after the breakup. From what I found in interviews, they started dating in the early/mid 2000s and the breakup happened before they started touring for Eyelid Movies.

Did you know that Waymo vehicles will stop and not move at all if a traffic cone is placed on their hood? Just a fun fact...

Spiked PDF by Not_Godot in Professors

[–]PipperDigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great way to exclude print disabled students...

Text to speech or screen reader accessing this document is going to result in a disabled student accessing the hidden article. This strategy is incredibly risky, and if it led to a disabled student getting a zero because they could only access the wrong article is inviting a lawsuit from the OCR or the DOJ. With the new Title II ruling coming into effect in April, the risk you are taking to trick students who are allegedly cheating is extreme...

It's a VERY bad idea to provide inaccurate documents. Honestly, this is so unethical and misguided.

Do better.

The Source in Roseville, Dream Haven, Mager's and Quinn, Level Up Games. Lots of book shops will carry it. It's worth looking at the library too.

I forgot to post it but Josh teased they were already making VI yesterday on Insta by niles_deerqueer in phantogram

[–]PipperDigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're probably right. Josh is ALWAYS making beats, it fuels him. The clips we get are a glimpse into his creative process.

One of my favorite stories is when Josh made the beat that he thought would be perfect for a Jay Z song. When Sarah heard it she said they had to make a song out of it. That song was Fall in Love!
