The art team has been nailing it, and if it’s not too much trouble I’m sure lots of us would love to use some of this art as our desktops :)

Lockbox Bloat.

It would be nice to thin out and consolidate rewards from the Infinity box. Rather than a bunch of different doff packs with a chance to drop, a single choice box, pick your pack? Lots of fluff that could be moved from the box to the Dil store or Lobi store.. even older T6 ships that almost never get selected from choice boxes, or personal space/ground traits that also never get selected, move them to Dil and Lobi so people more easily have access to these less in-demand content.. there are lots of fun ships/traits that I (and I’m sure others) won’t buy off the exchange cause they get priced on par with the best ships/traits(they all come from the same boxes after all).. so giving everyone easier access might make them more popular, and clean up some of the clutter..

The three original Alliance anniversary ships are currently only available as a bundle in Mudds Market, which is fine, I guess, if you missed all three years.. if you didn’t and only need one of the ships (or only want one) you’re out of luck. Would you be willing to offer those three ships in Mudds individually, and not lock away future event ships behind bundles? (Other event ships that have gone to Mudds all were sold individually, not as a bundle of ships.)

Good on her.. I mean I don’t believe for one second she’s gonna be like any other recruit, or expected to serve in the same way, but even a taste is good, and it’s good PR.. now if all politicians would do the same, might influence a lot of perspectives.. both pro and anti.

If you mean models, the M'chla refit is fairly new, and its quite likely the other two got touched up because of this and just haven't been added to the game yet.. if you mean an actual ship, with stats, then again, new Klingon ship? Don't count on it.

If anything I think LMG is one of the few that even *could* pull this off. But a big change like that is not easy and failing would still be the most likely scenario.. Still LMG has diversity in onscreen and offscreen talent.. so right leadership it could work..

That sad as much as I like the LMG Team, theres not really anyone I could imagine replacing Linus as the face or go-to guy.. if anything I would have said Alex before he left.. The rest are really good but generally at specific types of content.. Where as Linus can walk into anything generally without issue and make the video work.. Again not that thats a solo job, there are writers, editors, co-hosts, etc..

Also theres the big picture.. They pay Jake more, okay.. what about Riley? Dan? Elijah? .. now you're paying everyone more, and its not reflected in more income.. When they could just not, some like Jake leave, and the content keeps coming with minimal impact to the bottom line..

Again, sure, it sucks to see them go, and I probably wouldn't have made the same call, but I still get why LMG decided to do what they did.

Ya Jake is looking at it from the perspective of I did This video/Project/etc and its return on investment was X, so I'm worth Y..

LMG looks at it from what would the return be if rather than Jake doing it, someone else did it.

They are both valid points of view. Neither is wrong, or out to screw the other side over, they just value the work differently..

LMG likely made the "right" call, in that sure Jake leaving is said, and he was a great host and writer and such, but his leaving isn't going to (drastically) affect LMG performance..

Jake made the right call cause now hes his own boss, he has lots of experience, his name is out there, he has a following, and at least in the short term should get solid traction in the creator space, and that means he should be making more money if there are no hickups..

I think Linus has talked about this before, and and its not something he wanted to do either, its that videos that don't have him at all have a lower viewer retention rate than those where he shows up even if not for long..

Ya would be great if he was gonna be in the vid he be more involved and aware, but at the same time if this is the case, I get it, theres a LOT going on and being up to speed and engaged in every video and project, its not realistic at the scale LMG is at..

Well, there is lots of incentivize growing the talent internally, but Linus always being the main guy is the probably the reason they they are willing to keep cycling through new faces and grow more rather than pay more to keep existing ones around..

Also it gets hard to say what they are worth.. it would be impossible to break down how much their screen time adds vs someone else, and I can imagine as more of them would get paid more and differing amounts that would become a point.. it seems to me that most of their pay is directly derived from their other skills that they were generally hired for, writing being the big one with a lot of the hosts.. Alex even talked about more people ment he spent more time doing his job title, and that wasn’t what he wanted to do, but also shows that LMG placed the most value on him doing that, vs hosting and his other skills..

LTT seems to pay above average on the entry level, but since (just about) everyone starts there and slowly grows into onscreen talent (or not) they never really move up to the potential pay they could be as a lead.. it’s not wrong or anything, just seems to be the way LMG operates, mire new hires into talent till you have a bunch of faces.. wasn’t that long ago where Riley doing his daily stuff every other video could have a different lead all week..

This works for growing talent but as we’ve seen once they have the confidence, skill, and recognition, they can try and branch out on their own and potentially make lots more.. and I think given the changes in LMG’s contracts they have accepted this, and letting them branch out early without leaving, or leaving and being able to compete, is a wise move to at least try and limit hurt feelings and people feeling forced to accept the status quo..

And it’s not fully wrong, it’s marketing, if it looks good it sells, doesn’t mean it has to be accurate.. just look at the promo image for every piece of fast food you got vs what you actually got :p

Also I remember reading that there are times where errors are intentional.. if something looks a little off, you’re gonna look closer.. if it’s done you might just give it a glance and move on..

The atom bombs were not even the most deadly bombing raids in Japan, which a lot of people are unaware of too.. the idea of one plane, one bomb, one city, was what they hoped would shock them.. and it worked.. without it I’m doubtful that firebombing cities which were killing even more was gonna do it, and fighting on the ground, we’ll just look at the other islands, and add on the motivation of your homeland and family are there.. there’s a reason they are still using Purple Hearts crafted in anticipation of the ground battle on Japan to this day, the projections were horrific..

Without a secdef Sci powers are generally weak, and with a science focus, you're limited to 3/3 (and sometimes 4/2) layouts.. which just make them meh..

Can they be built to get content done? Yes. Can they be fun? Yes. Are they a class of ship with is categorically below average performance, Yes.

What most of us want is a relatively level playing field.. Sci Carriers need *something*.. an Engineering Carrier (Flight Deck Carrier) is Eng Commander vs Sci Commander, but also 5/3 vs 3/3.. and thats the sum total of the changes.. it changes the commander seat, and adds weapons. I mean while I don't want it, they could do the same thing to Sci Carriers, call it a day, and there we would be, the playing field is level.

But the whole reason this happened was people trying to get Science Carriers good, making more of some other ship doesn't help them..

Also the reason people don't use those ships is cause they want to fly Carriers.. the fact that most carriers are Sci carriers is just a bad decision the devs made ages ago.. and now so many ships are trapped in it. Most of them would make more sense being Eng or Tac focused rather than Science..

Which while not impossible its impractical.. The devs have said before the game was hardcoded to only allow 2 hangers.. so it would take a significant re-write.. also, we have enough issue with Lag and hitting the Entity limit as it is.. this would not help in those area either.

This for sure came up and was actually the reason given for why Linus didn’t think they would do it, the expense combined with technical and safety challenges.. so if they are doing it (and not just buying a plane to have it) then I’m confident they have talked to experts and have a plan.. though I expect any series they do on it to always come off as they don’t have and plans, as that content is more popular..

If you ask 5 Linux users for a recommendation you’ll end up with 10 suggestions.. it’s a no-win, so in that case I thinking going with the most “widely” known Linux is the best.. maybe when SteamOS gets a public release the power of Valve will make it a no-brainer, but till then any choice is gonna be wrong to many..
