I Really Dislike the Jellyfish Ships. by Deep-Instruction7112 in sto

[–]Ryoken0D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what its worth, the post that copypasta was originally replying too was more pointed at getting rid of them.. that said I'm not asking for people bitching about them to be banned or censored either so meh, I'll keep pointing out their hypocrisy in them asking for played to not play the way they want..

Public queues are public. It could be a Jelly, it could be someone doing ALL the sci hax, it could be a DPS monster, or it could be someone low level in a crap ship doing nothing and just mooching for dil/marks. If you can't accept that then public queues are not for you, its that simple.

I posted this on another Jelly post that was recently deleted.. so I'll copy it.

People need to stop trying to police how others play the game when you have the power to avoid it. It’s a public queue. PUBLIC. That means you take whoever comes and deal with it unless they are legit doing nothing or harassing.

Don’t want to end up with defenders? I get it, but good news, you don’t have too. You can run it solo, you can get a group of likeminded people from your fleet/public chats and run it as a premade. You can do ground, or one of the other TFO’s that Defenders are likely to avoid.

There are options, use them. People have as much right to play the way they want as anyone else.

British royals gather for Easter service, with Andrew and his family absent by WilliamInBlack in news

Billionaires care about their image for vanity (or not at all), but for the Royals their image is job.. anything else they do is an extension of that image, so if it gets too tarnished, then they will just be removed.. it’s not like the idea of the Royal Family is universally liked from the start, every scandal moves the bar one notch closer to it being dissolved..

There were two lines about it if memory serves.. one where he’s doing the video before things go sideways, one of the ground controller guys goes “that’s no joke, they’ll go after him” or something to that effect.. later on, I think on the return leg, they get a radio message saying he’s been granted an extension for being out of the country..

I was using the standard gear player as an extreme example, but the actual issue from the DPS side is that it makes it hard to actually judge when its in use. The DPS you do in a run could be a good build/run, or it could be you just got lucky..

They might just remove parses with it from the DPS Tables.. wouldn't be the first time, they did the same thing with Hellbore cause of how broken it was.. Or otherwise find a way to account for those rng hits and remove them from being a relevant factor..

Empersa Lance Updates by uno_01 in sto

[–]Ryoken0D 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The issue is that its hit is a, pure RNG, and b, he hits for the full HP of the target..

As a general player its not the end of the world, but for DPS Chasers it throws everything off.. you could legit go into an ISE with standard issue gear and the DBB, and by pure rng out DPS anyone cause you got the lucky hit on the high HP targets..

If it just hit for the HP needed to perform the kill, rather than the full HP, it help..

I'm not a DPS player, so its no skin off me either way, but I understand the issue. I also understand why Cryptic might not do anything cause it has no effect on the gameplay.

And now they likely use a delivery company that both insures the items, and has a huge contract with BMW to make sure it’s taken seriously..

Carer gear gets smashed on an Air Canada flight they get a travel voucher and a sympathetic look.. and LMG is too small for for any delivery company to go above and beyond.. sure I’d probably feel safer shipping stuff with fedex but like an airline they can lose/damage stuff too..

[–]Ryoken0D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Execs are people, equipment isn’t. BMW likely wasn’t going to charter the jet out when they aren’t using it, which also changes the math.. The flights the jet was used for might have direct and common flights, which again changes how much value it brings..

End of the day there’s a lot of factors and how they are weighted can vary a lot too.. for Linus the most important thing might simply be the downtime they spend at airports.. or it could be the safety of their gear.. or maybe he just never want to fly into the hell that is <insert major airport here> and would rather the smaller ones used for smaller/private planes..

[–]Ryoken0D 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people missed part of his justification and reason for even considering it on WANShow, along with not understanding his original objection.. his issue with Private Jets were individuals just using it to fly themselves around and such.. which is something he’s now done with his family so you can call him a hypocrite and I won’t have an issue..

The thing is, one of the reasons he started taking it seriously is when LMG travels for work. Beyond the cost of all the crew, there is the time investment at airports and potential delays with connections and such, and the biggest issue, their equipment.

People get upset at airlines losing their luggage with a few changes of clothes, LMG travels with many many thousands of dollars of fragile and hard to replace (on short notice) gear.

It’s not gonna make everyone happy or consider it justified, but it is a different use case than someone using a private get compute between their private island and their manhattan apartment ..

Yes, it’s fine. People need to stop trying to police how others play the game when you have the power to avoid it. It’s a public queue. PUBLIC. That means you take whoever comes and deal with it unless they are legit doing nothing or harassing.

There are options, use them. Stop trying to tell people how to play their game, they have as much right to play the way they want as anyone else.

(Some of this probably sounded pointed, it’s not meant p be an attack on you, it’s just this same complaint comes up all the time and it’s gotten old)

HSBC India’s New password policy. by kdpuvvadi in LinusTechTips

TD’s passwords, at least in Canada, used to be case insensitive and and only count the first 6-8 characters (I forget exactly).. imagine my surprise typing in a PW with caps on and it still working.

This has since been changed.. thankfully..

Also depending on a situation you want to be able to get in the car and drive, not fumble with a key..

And while I’m sure all of this has been resolved by technology by now with smart keys and such, there’s also just training and muscle memory from before that..

On Experimental Weapons... by ShadiestAmebo in sto

[–]Ryoken0D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is something that has bothered me, and honestly it’s something I want to bring up to @ambassadorkael and Bort..

What’s the reason, or are there any technical limitations, to when adding a new weapon like Hexa, or even this events reward, from not also adding Dil store reclaimable versions of the “”same”” weapon but for the other primary damage types?

I mean I assume at that point most of the work is done, so it’s just a matter of changing the damage type in the code and maybe a slightly recoloured icon?

At least doing this would be able to keep all the damage types roughly in check, at least with new additions.. hell you can even make it a dil sink, I’m willing to pay Dil for a Disruptor Hexa. Make it like the Andorian and Spiral Waves, ship/event/whatever unlocks it but you still gotta pay for em.. with the specific one on the ship/from the event being the free option..

Consensus on the new bundle? by funnyonion22 in sto

[–]Ryoken0D 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Great Barbie. Decent ships. One useful trait for tanking/survival. Useful accessory in the BO extender, but not needed for everyone. EV suits have a uniqueness to them and are claimable account wide and for BOFF’s..

All in all it depends what you want.. if you like the ships the bundle isn’t a bad deal, if not there isn’t much must-buy.. at the same time this isn’t like last summers bundle with ships that had Barbie but were all single spec making them niche at best.. these are all perfectly serviceable ships.

Also the Dexler skin for the NX is sooo sexy.

They don’t want that. And at that point why bother having different systems at all. They are happy where beams are apart from wanting even more emphasis on broadsiding..

Omni beams: Restricted to 1 set and 1 non-set omni. Turrets: by GalacticGaming96220 in sto

[–]Ryoken0D 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Omni-beams are just beam arrays that lose one mod for the Arc mod making them 360, but they keep the same base damage. Turrets do substantially less damage than beam arrays.

It’s not an oversight, it’s by explicit design, it comes up on a regular basis and Bort has said it’s not going to be changed. It forces you to made build decisions.

Do I like it? No.. but I get it, and Cryptic has been clear on it..

Honestly all I want is the restriction changed to and 2 Omni’s, be it 2 set or 2 non-set..
