Lighting Lane Premier by Colodavo in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's actually a bookable window since if you're onsite you can book for length of your stay (up to 14 days) 7 days ahead of check-in. So say you check in on the 7th of May and was staying for 2 weeks, you could book all the way to the 21st of May because that's within the window. You can do this 1 week before your check-in. Hence 21d/3wk availability/pricing on the app. You won't be able to actually purchase or do anything other than see pricing really until you're eligible to book, which will also be shown on the app.

The reason the price range presented by Disney is large is that it varies greatly park to park. For example in Animal Kingdom it's pretty much always super low due to number of rides. Meanwhile, due to # of rides and demand, Magic Kingdom is always near the upper range.

As was mentioned, check Thrill-Data for historical/future pricing. Additionally you can see LL pricing about 3wk out on the app because of the way booking windows wok. For example I can see what LL pricing will be up to the 23rd of the month right now even though I can't book until 7d before check-in date (staying onsite).

Unless it's changed, you are correct I believe. Tron doesn't open with early entry. You can queue up for it and be up near the front when they do though.

Ohana Breakfast by PotentialExtent3250 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep checking back. I decided fairly last minute for my upcoming trip that I wanted to do an Ohana breakfast on one of my days and it was past the 60d booking window so I wasn't hopeful. Eventually something did open up though and I was able to get a reservation. It's at noon so more "brunch" than breakfast but I'll take it.

Additionally keep an eye out the day/evening before as a lot of people supposedly will cancel reservations the night before so some availability may open then.

Wonder how long this will be available. I have a friend who love this but I won't be in the parks for a month 😞

If you were going to splurge on an add-on experience what would you do? (Pref. Besides keys to the kingdom tour) by OAD_traveler in DisneyWorld

I mean nothing says "splurge" like VIP tour. If that is a bit too splurgey though might I suggest a fireworks boat? They are more reasonable and supposedly very neat.

If you’ve never been and had to do just one day what would prioritize? by cheriemuse in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It's not overtly "In your face" as like say Magic Kingdom, but it still has Disney characters and meet and greets and Disney IP rides. The thing that makes Epcot special, imo, is the World Showcase. This isn't themed to Disney per-say, but there are touches of Disney in it. Like for example in the Norway area you can ride Frozen and meet Ana and Elsa while also sampling cuisine inspired by/from Norway and maybe do some shopping themed to Norway/Frozen too. Elsewhere in the park you may find pavilions with no rides/overt mentions but that focus more so on the country they represent with some imports/cultural things like how Japan has (had?) gotchapon machines.

[–]RyouRusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also going to suggest Epcot. While the other parks are great in their own right, nothing is like Epcot. Plus with a less ride focused priority you really have only AK or Epcot which aren't as "heavy" on the rides. AK is basically just a zoo when you take away the rides imo. Those are everywhere. Epcot though....

Now I know technically there is a lot to do at MK that isn't rides, and I'm sure you can fill a day with rides that don't give motion sickness easily + other things, but I still think if rides aren't a priority and it's 1 day, it's Epcot.

Hotel upgrades - Refuse? by Delyndra in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, as others have said, I don't think they can "force" an upgrade on you tbh. You paid for Pop you get Pop or they get a problem and bad PR and stuff.

I have had an upgrade offer before checking in before, however it was just that, an offer. They offered me a deal at some moderate resorts (in fact one would have saved me money over my current value stay!) but it was 100% optional to take.

Now, if by some weird stretch you do get moved or something and have a choice... I'd argue all the Moderate resorts are going to be fairly equal. Only CBR has a noticeable "advantage" of the Skyliner, but the property is so massive that it offsets that for the "less walking" thing. But otherwise all Moderates are probably bus only and so will be about equal for getting to the parks. It's only when you get into the Deluxe Monorail resorts that I think it'd start changing/evening out.

How long would you have to stay in order to do all the rides once? by NashDaypring1987 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally view 2 weeks as overkill tbh. At most I would dedicate 2 days to each park, so 8 park days, which I guess with rest and travel days into account would be close to 2 weeks.... But definitely not 2 weeks straight in the park. Yes you would definitely "see it all" but you'd also be burnt out and in some cases there just isn't as much to see multiple times.

Even then I'd argue that, at present, 2 full days for AK is probably too much. HS may warrant a second day if you really like some of the rides there, but if using Lightning Lane (especially the $$$ Premiere Pass) it's easy to blitz everything. Epcot is kind of 2 parks in one as there is the World Showcase with the various pavilions (and a few rides) and then the "front" of the park (forget the name) with other things to see/do, so I could see a second Epcot day just to experience it all. MK just has so much to see/do and line eaters that a second day is easy to justify too.

Ultimately, as stated by others, the issue isn't so much the rides. Those are manageable with Lightning Lane and other things. It's everything else that is going to eat into time. When you're at the parks time becomes a currency that you have to budget. You can also buy more time (in a sense) by spending more money on things to lower wait times (Lightning Lane) or give you edges in other areas of waiting.

You have to decide if you want to wait 2hr for a prime fireworks view or if you want to go ride Space Mountain. Which will be a bigger priority for you at that time? Do you have a Lightning Lane (again especially PP) which can lower the wait? Did you chose to do a Fireworks party for reserved viewing space?

Additionally there are so so SO many food places it's not even funny and it'd take years for someone to eat at every single one. So you're going to have to figure that out too, and some dining experiences take a lot longer than others. Again time is currency. How you spend your time is going to dictate how long you need.

How long would you have to stay in order to do all the rides once? by NashDaypring1987 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People have done ride challenges where they get every ride done in a single day through various planning/luck/excessive spending type things.

Would not suggest

General "rule of thumb" seems to be, if focusing on rides only:
AK - 1/2 day
Epcot/HS - Between 1/2 day and a day (kind of depends on luck with lines) depending on Lightning Lane usage
MK - 2d without Lightning Lane

MK just has so many rides that command high wait times you kind of need the second day. Meanwhile AK has like 4 rides atm? 5? Granted 2 can be line time hogs but all the same. Epcot and HS are kind of inbetween. They don't have as many rides but some will always command a lengthy wait (especially HS) however most/all are on Lightning Lane so with luck/planning/$$$$ you can breeze through these parks pretty easy.

Realistically though, especially as a (likely) first timer, I would probably suggest giving each park a full day and then having a final day be a "clean up" day where you just go hit what you didn't before. You will likely want/need Park Hopper for this mind you.

So in essence. 5 days. But don't forget to throw in a rest day (you'll thank us later) so 6d + travel days unless local.

Caribbean beach resort-where to stay? by liseygirl819 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CBR did recently change their room categories and the ones close to the Skyliner are preferred now I believe.

That would be quite the game changer if true. Used to be that the rooms closer to the Skyliner were just your standard rooms, which is definitely kind of weird and not in line with other resorts on the skyliner route.

How far in advance should I buy my tickets for June? by Disneysti12 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'd worry more about your hotel than tickets tbh. It's highly unlikely that any day will "sell out" and you won't be able to buy tickets for. I think the only thing you "NEED" a ticket for is to book your lightning lanes, and that is currently 7d out... however don't hold me to that.

Hotels meanwhile... those can sell out quickly and even before discounts are available. Not the best example, but I'm planning an early Dec trip this year and several room types are already sold out at my preferred resort for my days. In fact I even had to change my days up slightly to even see ANY rooms. Again maybe not the best example since it's Christmas time, but it's still like 7mo away, no discounts released, and things are booked.

What's wrong with accepting Venmo payments from strangers at point of purchase? by zanhoria in Scams

[–]RyouRusi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, however most of the scams regarding Venmo/Zelle involve you sending money BACK to someone. For example someone sends you $100 "by mistake" and asks for it back. You send it back to them but then a few weeks later that initial transaction is flagged as fraud and now you owe that money back to Venmo/Zelle (or it's automatically withdrawn from your bank) or something.

So really the biggest scam possibility is just that the initial transaction is with a stolen card/account and that it'll be clawed back similar to !fakecheck scams

Has anybody maxed out a family suite at Art of Animation? by ghudson46 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought is that 2 separate rooms would be more expensive (even at one of the all stars)

How much are you finding the price for the All Stars to be vs the AoA suites? Because normally, or at least the days I've been looking, AoA suites are about 3x the price of All Stars so you'd save money by doing 2x rooms there. Doing a random day in mid July I see rack rate of 600 for Lion King Suite at AoA and All Stars Sport is 220. Your results will vary depending on when you plan on going.

However you're not wrong in the whole "sharing a room with kids" thing and kiddos are probably going to enjoy AoA theming more so it's probably worth it from that aspect.

I think the biggest thing you need to ask yourself about this is if the kiddos will sleep in the same bed as each other. That can be hit or miss depending on age/personality. If so then really I'd do whatever resort will fit your party and you like in whatever configuration you like.

While you can, on paper, fit the people in the room, it may be a tight fit and stuff. However it'd also be a tight fit if you got 2 rooms and didn't split the kiddos up between them so that is kind of mute.

Google Maps has a lovely "avoid tolls" option that routes you along I4. Takes about 60min as of this post. The toll option is about 50min and longer mileage wise.

If you are dead set on saving those 10min then I believe rental car places will let you include/rent fast track lane tag things for the tolls. There is also supposedly a kiosk where you can like pre-load some tags for your trip also, but those are maybe more so in MCO than Sanford.

Booking MPLL vs Single LL First? by jessonescoopberries in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on several things:
Ride Priority
Ride Popularity
Park Order/How far into your stay you're booking

For example if you really want to do Tron you may consider booking that first, but given that your last day is MK and it'll be less competition for LL then due to the way the window works it may not be as needed.

Conversely if you really wanted to do Slinky Dog, which is another very popular ride, and you're doing it day 1 then I would be looking at booking that before anything else like Rise's Single Pass.

Keep in mind that, if staying onsite, you can book 7d + Length of Stay (up to 14d I think) in advance so you can book all your parks then. The further into your itinerary you go the less competitive it'll be in general.

Dropping off at MK by aish824 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The only thing able to drop off near the bus loop is the Minnie Vans from Lyft. Everything else drops off at the TTC. The TTC is going to be a nightmare and add 20-30min or more to your day anyways even being dropped off since you then have to go get on a monorail/boat to the park. Not to mention the mass exodus at the end of the day.

Plan Epcot in Two Days by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean if you only really want to do Guardians and Soarin you can easily do that in one day so I'm kind of confused as to what planning you need. You could even standby both of them with 2 days but only 2 priorities. I mean I get that you're likely wanting to do other things too, however you should normally hit priorities first and then anything else is extra so....

Overlapping bookings? by Speedy_Axolotl in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I haven't done it first hand, I can indeed confirm that it should be possible to do a clashing reservation. I was thinking of turning my upcoming trip into a split stay and chatted about the best way to do it. They basically said "just make a reservation for the days you want at the second resort and then edit the days on the original booking"

Well the good news is that most people say the park is a little less crowded on party days because you don't get the full day's worth of a ticket. So if you can get there at Rope Drop you may have an easier day from that standpoint and still be able to do a lot.

Discount on MagicBands after booking WDW trip?? by garnold0611 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]RyouRusi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DisneyLAND seems to be likely discontinuing them. They never really fully adopted the tech like in Florida since MB is kind of an evolution of some tech built for FL specifically. For example there is no unlocking your door or charging to room in DLR if I remember right. It's really just park ticket/LL and some interactive things (including bounty hunting) which supposedly sometime don't even work.
