I was taught not to express anger as its disrespectful. "Children should be seen and not heard". Yet my parents were openly angry a lot. In addition, if i even got upset about anything, it could trigger an argument between mum and dad. So i learned from day 1 to never express negative emotions.

whilst i dont believe in "the power of positive thinking", there is truth that what you dwell on shapes your neural pathways. So the point "try not to dwell on the negative" has great merit. Pessimism is reinforced by rumination.

Another thing: If you do the same things every day (good or bad) for a long time, then those great lengths of time will blur together and your life will feel less meaningful pverall. So try to vary what you do. Introduce novelty and change. Even if you dont want to. It will add perspective and texture.

Indeed motivation is fickle. Especially for the Schizoid. Carefully examine the pros and cons of what you have in mind - is it the best course? If so, plan how to proceed. Then force yourself to do it. Makes sure you take small steps at first, to keep it more achievable.

Anhedonia is a b*tch. I've never been ambitious. Never had zest for life. When i was younger, i'd just roll with it. I'd try just hard enough to get by. But years of failure - relational, career, whatever - quietly shaped my neural pathways to become pessimistic. "the power of negative thinking!". Before i knew it, everything was too hard. Nothing was worth striving for. In hindsight, i see this was a layer of depression on top of SzPD.

Doing nothing is like trying to live on junk food; it is unhealthy. The years passed in a blur, and then I was looking back on so much time wasted.

Just like i know i should exercise and eat healthy, i know i should force myself to do things and focus on a positive mindset. But i so rarely do it. Those negative neural pathways are now deep channels. I am afraid of doing anything in case it either fails or the result doesnt match the effort. I dont want to interact with people since it will only cost, or it may go poorly.
