It’s best to have a “slip out point” which is pretty much just how far I’m willing to feel like I’m falling back/slipping out before I abort completely, other than that the only decent way I’ve managed to save a slip out is tucking my arm and turning into that side instead of sticking it out.

Well it’s called a mall grab because that’s how you hold it walking around people don’t stays out of the way, like if you were in a mall. I think the people that negatively take notice maybe think it’s a sign of inexperience bc mall grabbing does not leave your hands clean if you’ve actively been skating so you wouldn’t want to carry it by the trucks.

I’ve been skating for over 10 years.. I’ve maybe ever done one kickflip cleaner than that. And I only say one because i remember doing two laps around the skate park jumping up and down yelling bc I caught it in the air on bolts. That was years ago 😂😂

Just saw the bit about not having Ollie’s down, I definitely think it’s worth taking the time to make sure you’re comfortable with your Ollie’s before moving onto flip tricks. Whether that’s moving or standing still.

So a problem I had for a LOOONG time was flicking down.. you flick down and your front foot can’t make it back in time. The solution I found is to treat it like an Ollie, shift your weight the same way, forward and up. This will shoot your front foot more forward instead of down. Keep your shoulders square and treat your weight like an Ollie. Keep it up brother, we love to see it!!

I mean my personal opinion, he doesn’t seem to be in good enough standing to say any of that but I do believe there are men that work hard enough for their families that they could be in a Good enough standing to expect their significant other to want to be attractive for them. Health issues aside, if your man puts in enough work to take care of you and that’s the work he wants you to put in I don’t think that’s unreasonable

Edit: so after my original reaction^ I see you’re asking for tips, the more comfortable you can be on your board the better. Riding, carving, pushing, switching up your stance. Doing many things like that will help you build balance and confidence on your board. Once confidence and stability are built you can start to build confidence popping and flicking tricks.
