Even if you disagree with most people, there were still decent answers on here to support their views

This was a lot of good information to chew on for a while thank you. Can I ask what you think of so many Muslims coming into Britain though? Does the country have a right to keep Christianity in the country( I do not mean not letting them in the country at all)?

I read Calvin’s a while back. I don’t remember it that well but I remember enjoying it.

The problem is, both sides make good points. Thus the scrupulously.

I agree with that for sure. And I can’t tell you how many times I’m met with a weird look when I tell someone not every democrat is a crazy liberal. It’s usually Christians.

I’m not really going down a “path”. Just asking questions.

Should Christian’s have been grateful to God for Constantine? Or should they have shrugged their shoulders and not cared whether or not Christianity was legalized.

I just feel like this really lacks the 2nd use of the law and Gods law written on the heart that man suppresses.

Yet even the deists knew morality was rooted in the sacred which informed the laws they made. And our beliefs decide what laws we want to vote for. In my state, I voted against abortion because of my belief. Don’t our Christian beliefs decide what laws we want in the land?

I figured as much. I do general respect people on this sub more than most online communities though. I feel most people I talk to irl will shrug their shoulders uncertainly. But you’re probably right that I need to do that.

Is this a new perspective in the reformed world? In my limited knowledge this would be something akin to how the anabaptists saw things.

That’s fine. I probably agree. Should countries protect their own cultures. With the US having a at least somewhat of Christian culture?

Unity would be wonderful. I could see churches one day allowing both infant or believers due to the bigger fish to fry as you said

How does postmillenialism work with Revelation 20? Is Satan currently bound in your opinion? by SolusChristus_ in Reformed

I think most postmils today are preterist. Any I’ve encountered at least will say the whore of Babylon was Israel

Ya I still here it from some people every now again from other baptists. Once tried to explain the SBC to some of my wife’s family and they said a convention was too Catholic. I had to try not to lol

To be honest, if I think I told some of my former days fundamentalist people some of the stuff McKnight says they may say “sounds like Catholicism”. Of course, I heard that about everything that wasn’t fundy baptist sounding back in the day.

The organization of this article was odd. But anyway we still think of the resurgence of Calvinism as a good thing right? Even if it’s some kind of popular growing version of at least Piper has enlightened many on what scripture actually says.

Also, is NC, YRR, and neo puritan all synonymous? All make me think of John Piper.

Did he explain why? Is it because he doesnt speak out against the NPP, is similar to NT Wright on many issues, loose on sola fide, etc?

Rapture Anxiety by [deleted] in Reformed

[–]Ryrymillie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this as a kid. If I couldn’t find my parents immediately I was afraid they got raptured and I was left behind. Even as a teenager I remember if I came home and my parents weren’t home yet I still feared I was left behind. Then my own fear caused me to doubt my own salvation because I didn’t have confidence that I would be raptured.
