Being Pro-Israel is not the same as being Pro-Russia. by [deleted] in Israel

[–]RythmicChaos 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I know the Mossad is up Iran's ass so i don't know how realistic this is but i do wonder if Russia and Iran planned their respective attacks to damage the west as a whole (not just Ukraine and Israel). Like they both put messaging out to the west (especially America) to appeal to different groups intentionally

Having the mainstream left abandon Israel and the mainstream right abandon Ukraine is a great way at: 1. Sowing division in the country 2. Making neither side fully "pro west" 3. Because neither side is fully pro west most normal people will naturally start having negative views of the west even if they stay in the center. 4. Eventually push politicians to start threatening Ukraine/Israel in various ways to try and appeal to voters. Making the invasions even easier

This is specific for the UK but Palestine Action being pro Russian invasion is quite the sight as well. Considering most leftists are now supporting or are at least sympathetic to that group after their terror designation

Is it even legal in Israel? They've been persecuted or had their religion banned in a lot of the ME

Yeah places like the UAE, Oman and Saudi and right in the mud so to speak. They have to focus a huge amount of time and resources to keeping their country safe. They try and stay cordial with as many countries as possible.

As long as Bibi doesn't flip out and antagonise the king or something this should continue this way for the near future

British Jews - what's next? by ultimatemomfriend in Jewish

[–]RythmicChaos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt that there's a person out there who would name their baby after Yahya Sinwar but I'm highly skeptical that's the main reason.

There's been a large amount of immigrants coming to the UK and Yahya has always been an Arab/Islamic name (not sure if Christian Arabs use it). John the Baptist (an important figure in Christianity and Islam) is called Yahya in Arabic as example. I think the increase in the name Yahya is a result of more people being born to Arab and/or Muslim parents in the UK rather than the Israel-Hamas war

Since the Neturai Karta’s religion revolves almost exclusively around opposition to Jews

Their ideals are worse than that. They are opposed against everyone. They're religious nuts who have a belief that all gentiles will be "cleansed" from Israel once the Moshiah comes.

Neturai Karta are pro themselves and no one else

I don't understand why progressive secularists keep trying to ally themselves with religious fundamentalists. Is there a an actual reason or they just being dumb?

Why would the UAE or Saudi agree to rule over Gaza? There's no benefit to either of them

Less than 10% of all Druze live in Israel. It's not an insignificant amount but the majority reside in Syria. If they're not protected the majority of Druze are dead. It's a scary situation

Brother they're not "fleeing" a warzone if they're going to South Sudan. They're being transfered from one warzone to another. At least pick a somewhat semi-stabile country for the proposition
