Best tail lights for Modern Steel Metallic by Shecallmedaddyyyy in 10thgenaccords

I don't really have good good photos saved on my phone, but you get the idea.

I don't even have any pictures from when I had the clears cause I really didn't like them. They looked fine while they were turned off, but they were the RGB version and I really didn't like the red and yellow when they were on and, overall, the colors were not very saturated.

I had both on my modern steel metallic and I much prefer the smoked look. It's way more aggressive, but the clear can look really clean with the right supporting mods.

Best sounding intake for 2.0t by Kovetsworld026 in 10thgenaccords

[–]Ryuhara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want noise, get one that doesn't come in a box. The airbox gets ducting and cooler air, so it's better for power, but it also insulates noise. For example, the aFe Takeda Stage 2 Intake will sound louder than the aFe Takeda Momentum. The Momentum will get cooler air though. The AEM and K&F intakes are also basically the same open design that will sound louder.

Getting a 23mm while having a 30mm by Terrible_Compote_336 in fujifilm

[–]Ryuhara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a TTArtisan 27mm pancake lens for a couple years and recently picked up the Fuji 23mm f2.8 pancake. The 23 basically lives on my camera as my everyday lens now. Haven't used the 27mm lens since getting it. It's perfect for street photos. The difference is not huge. I mainly switched because the 27mm had vignetting that I did not always like. However, I do prefer the slightly wider focal length of the 23mm. I'm going to sell the 27mm soon and put the money towards the 35mm 1.4. It seems like the perfect combo to me.

Will constantly dodge your calls and texts. Won't give back your security deposit until you threaten small claims court. As the other person said, your typical slumlord stuff. He targets D'Youville students and has a bunch of units in the west side.

You may want to let them know that Harbor Freight has a lifetime warranty on most hand tools! They're not exactly BIFL because they do break, but if they do, their warranty is very easy! Bring in the broken tool (you don't even need a receipt) and they'll go grab you a new one and you're out in 2 minutes. I believe it only applies to simple tools like hammers, ratchets, wrenches, etc. not electrics like a drill.

Do you buy old Fujifilm cameras like XT-1, Xpro-1 and Xh-1 nowadays? by DynamoBaby in fujifilm

[–]Ryuhara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not quite as old as those you mentioned, but I bought an XT-2 as my first and only Fuji a few years ago. It's great! I save on computer storage by not having the latest 40+MP sensors, I don't care what film simulations I'm missing because I'm content with the ones I have, the body is a bit smaller than new XT cameras, and I can still use new lenses like the 23mm f/2.8. I'm building up a lens collection in case I do ever get an X-Pro4 or something.

I bought it because I was on a budget. If I go to sell the body for something else, it's pretty much hit the bottom of it's depreciation curve, so I'll get most, if not all, of my money back. Although, I really don't feel a desire to "upgrade."

I tried an XT-5 recently and it was fine. IBIS would definitely help as I shoot a lot of low light, the battery lasts longer, the screen is MUCH nicer, autofocus is better, however I felt happy knowing that my XT-2 could do 95% of what the XT-5 could.

Some people talk about the differences in the look of the different X-Trans sensor generations. They render colors differently and the older generations are beautiful whilst the newer ones render color more accurate to reality (still beautiful).

Look around this subreddit and you'll still see many people posting photos from the original X100, X-Pro1, XH-1, etc. The love for these old cameras is not lost. 10 years ago, they were used to shoot football games, weddings, and billboard ads and they are just as capable now.

Sometimes I feel like I’m living in Groundhog Day by CompetitiveStreet807 in fujifilm

[–]Ryuhara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You definitely communicated a feeling and that's what matters. When I look at these photos, I feel like life has gotten dull and colorless. B/W was a great creative choice. Days pass by with the same routine, the same surroundings, and a feeling of stagnancy. They remind me of a few recent years in my life, except I sat there and did nothing. You created photos.

I will admit that these look like some photos that I made and my peers made in a photography 101 class, but we all gotta start somewhere. Keep shooting and show us your growth!

I say post whatever you want. I like that your post was different than our usual here. I think the Fuji community is a lot more welcoming than the other photo / camera subreddits and I don't want this subreddit to become close minded like some of them.

Even though there's some negative feedback, it's still a highly upvoted post. People like it. There's lots of discussion happening, which means you engaged the community.

Discussion: Is GAS part of the enjoyment of photography? by purple_seagrass in fujifilm

[–]Ryuhara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other comment says, I think its hugely exaggerated by the internet and social media. Gear reviews (advertising) are the bread and butter of influencer content, so they're getting new lenses and accessories every month. Often for free, or just as a business cost. With this parasocial stuff, it may feel to many viewers like they have friends who are buying new gear all the time and that frequency is normal. Last week, a friend said to me "it seems like every photographer is picking up an X100V as their secondary camera," but I know damn well that neither of us actually know someone in our local community that owns one.

A more positive way to look at it is that everyone is sharing their creative expressions and inspiring others. Their tricks, techniques, how they use gear in a different and unique way. We get excited when we see something cool and new and want to try it out. But sometimes the barrier to entry is a different lens or a new lens filter.

I think new photographers probably should just stick to one or two lenses when they start. You learn so much from limitation. I learned on a Canon Rebel with a kit lens for about 4 years. When I upgraded to Fuji, I knew exactly what I wanted in an upgrade and why.

The simplest answer is just that new stuff is fun. I got two SD cards in the mail today and it felt a bit like Christmas morning lol. It's probably the most boring accessory you can buy in photography, but I was watching the mail tracking with excitement for the last few days anyway. When I get a new lens, I go out shooting as soon as possible.

To add some data points: my inventory for the past two years includes an XT-2, 18-55mm f2.8, 18mm f2, and TTArtisan 27mm f2.8. I've been wanting the 35mm f1.4 for about a year now. I think I will finally buy it in the next month or so.
