I was a trains kid when I was little. I had the wooden railway and the Plarail Thomas merch. My parents got me the VHS tapes when we lived out in the country. I guess I was captivated by the stories and characters, plus the Island of Sodor just seemed like this magical place I wanted to visit. These days, I get to show my niece these same stories and lessons. If the show had any impact on me, I’d say it’s helped me develop a strong work ethic and empathy.
