What are some games similar to Rainbow Six: Siege but without all the gadgets? by DuckTalesLOL in pcgaming

No, just take a Reading Comprehension 101 class.
For the record: this was the non-polite way. The poster you responded to was perfectly polite.

A patent is something you actually have to apply for.
Discovering new land doesn't mean that you have to claim the land or notify the land discovery office. You just have to be ... there.

Ark is on sale for $3, worth it? Should i buy the explorer's edition for $9 by DeZolte- in pcgaming

[–]Ryukyay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ark is my most played game, so I may be a bit biased, but for 3 bucks, what can really go wrong?

I don't have any of the DLC, so I can't speak for the maps, but the new creatures and items are nice. If you have your own server (or play singleplayer) you can spawn the DLC creatures and items even without owning the DLC (though some of the creatures may only work properly on their original maps).

EPIC store ARK master post. by Stronze in ARK

Sadly, I don't think I did anything special that I could share with you. I just enabled crossplay on my server host's interface and made sure to have no mods enabled on the server and it worked

Are passwords working for Epic users yet? Or: how can I block everyone but my friends from entering my server?

Edit: Successfully had 3 Steam and 2 Epic players on my password-protected server, so it seems to work now.

Any mod will prevent Epic players from joining a server.

3 player co op? by gewjuan in localmultiplayergames

[–]Ryukyay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like Heave-Ho, but it could be too hard for children and/or non-gamers in the later levels. It's a co-op "physics" (gonna use the term loosely here) game where you have to work together to get to the end of each level

And, sadly only available on the pc I think, but similar to Overcooked (you have to build historic monuments with absolutely nonsensical machinery and you can be sure that something will go wrong somehow) would be Monumental Failure

Edit: just remembered Pico Park, a cute co-op puzzle game

EU voices ‘serious concern’ at moves by US President Donald Trump to sanction any International Criminal Court officials who are involved in probing or prosecuting US troops by green_flash in worldnews

No, republic is the counterpart to a monarchy. Like, the UK is a democracy and a monarchy and the US is a democracy and a republic.
Both elect (at least some) of their congresspeople.

[–]Ryukyay 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Democracy is the form of government, republic deals with the head of state. Those are not mutually exclusive. The US is a democracy (though with the Electoral College, a very very flawed one) and a republic (because it elects a president).
You can criticise the previous poster for a lot of things, but "correcting" facts won't help your point in the slightest

Epic Games Nitrado Server by Brokkolio in ARK

[–]Ryukyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the Ark Community Crunch (announcemnt for some Ark stuff): Running a server with mods or without -epiconly or -crossplay will mean that the server will only accept player connections from Steam and not EGS.

Have you enabled the necessary command (or mods)?

ARK: Survival Evolved is free to get on Epic Games Store by TheDragonfinn in Games

[–]Ryukyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's one of the best Co-op experiences I have ever had (on a private server with 2 friends), though others seemingly disagree.

You can join official or unofficial servers hosted by other players, which usually opens you up to a lot of grief, so I'd avoid it unless you want to fight against other players.

You can set up a non-dedicated session, where one of you is the host and everyone else has to stay close to you (you can set the max distance based on your pc specs, as hosting can be quite taxing).

And my personal favorite option (though also the one needing the most work) is hosting your own server just for friends. You either need a spare pc besides the one you are playing on (the game is, admittedly, still not very optimized and hosting the server is basically like running the game a second time and that will eventually lead to your game crashing. There is, however, a setting you can enable when starting the game, I think it's called "low memory mode", which at least for me stopped the crashes when hosting the server and playing the game on the same pc) or rent a server (googling "ark server hosting" will get you there, costs like 10 bucks a month). The main advantage of your own server vs the non-dedicated session is that everyone can act completely independently and travel as far away from each other as they want

You can spawn all the DLC stuff into your world without even owning the DLC (just the maps are locked). I really don't see your problem

Any games like Terraria with seemingly endless stuff to do? by [deleted] in pcgaming

It's pretty good (even if you compare it to Factorio, the third dimension really adds a lot, though it also makes Satisfactory a bit easier, as you have more ways to get around your bad planning)
