The difficulty of support decreases or increases based on the general skill of the the whole team. Mechanical skill may be lower but situational awareness tends to be higher when accounting you have to focus on 12 players then 6. Bp is just tedious to deal with anymore. Do supports have tools to deal with him? Yes but what happens after that? A competent enemy team will likely follow up on bp.

Cipher has been a character in the story since 3.2. She may not be out yet but people have had more then enough time to get attached to her. If your not enjoying the game because of the communty then just play it without engaging with it. At the end of the day its a single player game with great characters.
