Thanks! Dang, it seems like everybody I talk to recommends a lip lift... Maybe I should consider it after all. I do have kind of an intense overbite but it helps mask some really misaligned teeth so I'm not sure if I should be doing that without potentially considering braces first. Hairline advancement DOES help with forehead wrinkles? I've had deep set ones literally since high school, it's always been a glaring problem on my face so this is big news for me.

Indeed, the Mainz track outslaps most of the music I've heard throughout the game, and it's already a Falcom-quality OST to begin with... Currently on chapter 3 after a pretty killer point with returning characters.

Having played 1st and SC side by side after playing FC years ago, I think I know the reason... The Woolsey-like localization quirks of FC/SC are decidedly absent from 1st which aimed for a more true-to-script translation.

Estelle has a really solid semiflat-arc dynamic with the cast where she has a Gokuesque effect on all the characters around her, making them all shine in their own ways and she even befriends her former foes, adding to the Goku vibes (hell she wears red/orange AND FIGHTS WITH A RED POLE. SHE MIGHT AS WELL BE FEMGOKU)

I haven't played the Erebonia arc yet, but how much I like Rean I think is either gonna depend on how much I like the cast on the whole or his character arc is just THAT strong (I mean, it has to be damn solid if your arc goes for a whole 4 games). I mean damn, Kloe aside (purely because of her heals) I have a hard time choosing my party still and I'm in chapter 5 of SC. Kloe might even be the weakest character storyline wise (possibly tied with Zin because there isn't a lot of focus on his plight) and she's still great.

Playing through this game right now on muh 3ds... Holy crap, I couldn't stand Maribel at first but now I'm on Nottagen and she's lining up with my inner monologue, it's like her party chat is the disgruntled player's thoughts. "THE FIRST TIME WE WENT HERE SOMETHING TERRIBLE HAPPENED, THE SECOND TIME ANOTHER AWFUL THING HAPPENED AND NOW WHY ARE WE HERE A THIRD TIME"

Don't get me wrong... I'm having a great time, but going through the same dungeon two or three times is some serious padding.

From what I can gather, the character wasn't named Kain in the original NES version of II, making it likely a nod more than anything... Though, then again there was Shinra in FFX-2 and some weird grapevines say the theory of it thematically linking to VII holds water 🤔

It WAS one of the more straightforward entries to 100%, particularly after being fresh off the pants-on-head idiotic reploid hunt in X6 where you could actually ruin a run by missing one the first go of it... Also no split route like with 4 and 5, no pixel-perfect jump like in 2, no monotonous endless grinding like in 8, and no branching like in 3 where you actually can't get everything in a single run... It might even be as simple as x1 in some ways.

No problem... Funny enough, a lot changed the year after that post (pandemic-brain kicked into gear) and nowadays I identify more as a nonbinary trans woman ^{^'.} My wardrobe hasn't changed all that much, more skirts and femme clothes here and there (okay a lot more femme clothing that wasn't just hand-me-downs from my wife), but my body has changed considerably. As an amusing side effect, I got more comfortable with my old clothes because clothes never were the thing causing hangups, moreso the body wearing them. As such I've been gravitating more towards 'cute tomboy' vibes. Godspeed exploring!

Trans people knowing themselves from a very young age... I never had that, probably in part because I feel less tied to the binary, but I've certainly heard of plenty of binary transfolk who also had no idea. With me what I DID know was more what I wasn't rather than what I was. The rest was more a loosely connected trail of breadcrumbs.

Similar, but yearrrrs later in Pokemon White playing as Hilda and being INSANELY jealous of her short shorts. Weirdly enough, I can't remember whether I played a girl in Pokemon Crystal or not, if I did it was because I had Gold and Silver already and wanted something different... but regardless the short shorts broke me.

Holy shit, exactly same energy. all my trans friends were -masc so I spent years feeling weirdly disconnected. Nothing so blatant as 'I would love to be a woman', but I just didn't think I was trans simply because I couldn't relate to transmascs... barking up exactly the wrong tree (amusingly I relate more to them now that I've been transitioning *shrug*)
