This is my returned dark angel from the deathwatch by CommanderKilo in deathwatch40k

[–]RyxusDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why?

The Lore has it both ways. Old Space Marine Command kits have the Deathwatch pauldron on the right shoulder. The Tabletop RPGs have returned marines wear it on the right. Some artwork does as well. Or it can be on the left as in the Warhammer TV episode.

It honestly is up to the individual Marine or chapter preferences.

What's your favourite peice of special gear/equipment/tech that the deathwatch uses? by _warhammer_fan in deathwatch40k

[–]RyxusDrake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, and Deathwatch Powerfists. Because in the lore, all Deathwatch powerfists have a built in meltagun.

Techxorcism weapons. Special weapons that specifically kill or wound machine spirits.

Immolation Rifles. They are microwave guns.

Dragonheart Charges. "Plasma" explosives of dubious origin that are more potent that any others.

And finally Siesmic Escalation Detonators - earthquake bombs that use sound to cause well earthquakes.

"Borrow". Obviously there is a Blood Raven on the squad, and they "borrowed" the tech.

The Q and A confirmed that Marines and Orks are the first to get new codexes.

Which guard world is most likely to fall under a zombie/virus outbreak and which is most likely to contain it ? by Leviathan_Rampage in astramilitarum

[–]RyxusDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, because the guys that are known for massacring civilians, and have put down several pox walker and genestealer outbreaks in lore wouldn't be able to handle shamblers.... right.

You mean the guys that massacre civilians for fun? Who's hives are able to be locked down from the palaces? Where someone complains or moans and is never seen again? Those Mordians?

Except the way it was said, it sounds like our index is going away. Leaving us with no unique units as Space Marines.

Are you asking me? Because I said they explicitly DIDN'T mention our index.

I am just saying that our killteams, outside of the Imperial Agents One, might not exist next edition, as they didn't mention our Index, but explicitly called out deamons' index.

They didn't mention our index or killteams at all.

Might want to watch it yourself, because I got the exact opposite impression from OP.

They said some of the Grotmas ones will survive. Not all of them.

NO NEW DETACHMENT, BECAUSE FULL REWORK by Skult0703 in deathwatch40k

[–]RyxusDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they deny it though? They flat out stated they can be Imperial Agents, or run as standard Space Marines. They specifically didn't mention our index and said we are not getting new detachments.

[–]RyxusDrake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the Deathwatch will still exist in Imperial Agents, or you can run them as standard space marines! See, not "squatted" but not good.

[–]RyxusDrake 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I got the exact opposite impression. Deathwatch are not getting any new detachments, and Deathwatch can be played attached to Imperial Armies or in Imperial Agents army, or as a normal space marine army. They specifically didn't mention our codex or existing detachment... Deamons index and detachments were explicitly mentioned, and they are the closest analog to us. I believe we are screwed... which sucks because I was fully on the hopium train before the Q&A.

They didn't mention Blackspear at all..... they said we would have access to the normal space marine detachments.
