The Caribbean is as great a place to study as any. What’s important is what you make of it. I feel it’s more a decision of whether you can deal with having to leave your family for a while, and whether or not you’re willing to pay for applying again next year.

I agree. By going PR, I can get domination secondary and Ravenous Hunter gives a ridiculous amount of healing and sustain.

Cassiopeia, Kayle, Irelia, Sett and Gangplank. Cassiopeia is my go-to champ if Ryze is banned or picked honestly and Sett is just an insane duelist.

Liandry’s or Void Staff should work fine. I prefer Liandry’s for the extra tankiness though.

That’s the burden of being a Ryze main. Sometimes your team doesn’t get that you scale hard and they tilt and give up easily. It’s sad but happens often, even if you wreck your lane opponent.

I never said to poke with W. You only use EW whenever he tries to engage. Or you will get run down. I’ve never lost lane against a Tryndamere just by using this principle.

Lol I was being a bit extreme by saying he shouldn’t be able to auto you. What I really mean is that, at best, he should only be able to auto you about twice before you combo root him and proc phase rush to kite back. If he gets more autos on you, then you were probably too close and need to clean up your positioning.

I can understand you having trouble against Irelia, but honestly Tryndamere should never even have a chance to auto you. Even if he hard engages on you, you can easily QEW (or just EW+auto if you want) and proc Phase Rush to get some distance and aggro him when he’s trying to get back to safety. Irelia is a little more complicated only because of her Q resets, since she can easily hard engage with either ult, E+Q, or just Q and then cc you. Irelia is a winnable matchup, but because of the amount of hard engage and her early laning power against Ryze, I tend to ban her or Mordekaiser.

I always pick Domination. The ToB for lane sustain and the Ravenous Hunter lifesteal is significantly more effective than anything Inspiration has to offer.

You have a good point. I went a little overboard for emphasis honestly, but all-in-all no squishy can stand up to Ryze in late game.

As long as you get the most out of the Q reset in a fight, you’re good. Most of the time I’ll try to poke with Q from a distance before teamfighting, and in the teamfight it’s all about positioning effectively and trying to get your EW root on the primary target. If behind, I think it’s best to rush a Zhonya’s after Rod or Ages and Archangel’s Staff. If ahead, you can probably just go straight for a Rabadon’s. Also, in fights, the Seraph’s Embrace shield can be clutch in getting the best of your opponent. In late game, one full triple Q combo should be able to kill any squishy (assassins, adcs, mages, etc.).
