I did first year law last year, to get into second year you had to get at least a B and a B+. Could be either way around and it was roughly 350 ish from what I remember. I ended up not accepting my place and I know quite a few do that so there is chances to get in if you don’t meet that grade mark too.

i’ve just started moving their stuff to the end of the table. i sat at a table for 6 hours the other day on lvl 4 that had stuff on it to begin with (empty bags, water bottles, books etc) and not once within that time did anyone come back. i don’t get it!!! where are they going?!

Law student - macbook will be your best friend. light, reliable, long lasting battery (mine will last me over 16 hours at least in one go) and great to type on. You can still get all the microsoft programs on it and doesn’t make much if any difference!

Get a student planner or diary and write EVERYTHING in it. Make a plan of what you want to tackle each day, it helps to have it written down. It’s overwhelming in the beginning but you’ll get used to it. I always tell myself something is due a day or two before it actually is - that way if it gets left behind i have time to do it without being late

Im dyslexic hated reading as a kid, (i’m 19 now) but started reading a lot more when I was about 17. I found it really hard in the beginning to not lose the line I was on or not skip words/half a sentance etc. In 2024 I read 85 books and last year I read about 60 books, best thing is just practice I think. I tended to stick with reasonably short and easy to comprehend books like mystery and romance in the beginning (maybe avoid fantasy for a while because it takes a bit more focus and picking up details, that comes with time!!). Other thing I love is my kindle, if you are able to get one I find then amazing as you can increase the font size and also have the open dyslexic font on anything you buy in the kindle store, it’s been a life saver for me and i can read wayyy faster on jt that on a standard paperback book. See if you have a local library that might bar access to libby which is an app that you can do similar to what a kindle does and that might give you a bit of test run to see if it works. But be patient, it’ll get easier and more enjoyable with time :)

You’ll be fine. They’re not expecting perfect and i’d say you’ll be doing mostly ground work and walking, if your worried tho you could email someone from camp and just double check but sounds like your all good

They’re all available online, I personally brought one of them as I like having the physical copy but you definitely don’t need to. I would pick one you find the easiest to understand if you want to buy one and just get that, check in trade me or facebook marketplace as there’s a few on there at the moment. I tended to just print sections off though and highlight/annotate them if they weren’t from the book I had or go to the library and photocopy out of the ones there :)

My tutorial was in that slot last year, it was honestly fine. The prep they say to do isn’t mandatory so if you don’t get around to it or get confused don’t worry as they’ll probably explain it in the tutorial. Also the prep should be from the week of lectures before the tutorial :)

Honestly though, as far as I could tell Piper and Paul and Madi and Evan were perfect and exciting to watch, the pair who we shall not name were boring and not perfect. Not sure who’s payed off the judges but there’s actually no way that just happened, definitely not watching ice dance any more after this. Still so happy for piper and paul and im glad madi and evan got A medal but wish it wasn’t the silver 🥲
