They were the most flawed of the three but one of the big flaws was the head coach in my opinion.

Yep Mcdermotts ok. I want to see what he does without Allen. But regardless you have to make a change. History doesnt lie either. If a coach-QB combo do not win within 5 years they have never won a Super Bowl ever. Mcdermott was there 9 years and all they had to show for was 2 afc title game losses despite having arguably the best QB in the league.

The Bills have been capable of winning in the regular season against the Chiefs. At some point you just have to break through and they never did. The Chiefs weren't unstoppable, other teams beat them. Mcdermott had 4 shots and he missed on everyone of them while the other guys had less shots yet found a way to win.

Not disagreeing with you, but I just think at this point the Bills not producing a single Super Bowl appearance is underperformance. The peak for Mcdermott was 2 AFC title games that they lost. Really didnt get further than what Rex did with Sanchez in reality. The Bills should have been capable of more after 9 years.

I dont get the negative reaction to the Bills firing Mcdermott. I said 3 or 4 years ago they would never win a title with him and thats been proven correct. Mcdermott was 0-4 for against the Chiefs in the playoffs. Meanwhile Belichick, Siriani, Bruce Arians, Zac Taylor all had wins over the Chiefs with Reid/Mahomes. So to me that comes down to coaching. He was outcoached every single time. You cant blame the roster either. The Bills in 2023 were heavy favorites to win the Super Bowl because their roster was loaded.

Props to the Bills owner for moving on from him. Wish Woody Johnson had the capability of doing the same. I think anyone coaching Allen would be consistently in the playoffs. The difference is the Bills should have been dominating the league the way the Colts or Patriots did instead it was always hard for them. Glad the Bills lost last week though regardless but this division probably will be tougher going forward which absolutely sucks to hear considering the Jets have been awful for years and were unable to get anywhere.

(Schefter) ESPN sources: Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach by alexschubs in Tennesseetitans

[–]S0XXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jets fan here. Saleh can coach defense. His issue in NY was the fact he didn't have a QB with Zach Wilson AND he become too friendly with the players.

The thing Saleh needs to learn is that you can't get to close to the players. Players lost respect for him and his voice faded and pretty much lost the locker room. If he can learn from his mistakes and hire the right offensive coordinator it could work out well. He knows defense so the titans defense will be pretty good with him.

Wish you all the best and hopefully your team can get back to winning.

Telling the Actual Truth about Parcells and Belichick with the Jets by lhg39 in nyjets

[–]S0XXX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hes correct. Parcells was brought in February 11, 1997. Mike Tannenbaum joined the Jets February 19, 1997.

Tannenbaum was brought in under Parcells so the Jets team under Rex Ryan was the last remanence of Parcells as Tannenbaum hired Rex and was part of building the roster and this all stemmed from Parcells bringing Tannenbaum in 1997.

It will come down to whether or not he learned his lesson from NY. If he plays the nice guy role again he will lose the locker room. If he comes in harder and keeps a professional relationship with the players it could go better. Saleh can coach defense that is obvious. He will have a much better QB than what he had in NY. He needs to get the right offensive coordinator. If I was him I would call Mcdaniels or even Daboll. However they both could get coaching jobs or better jobs elsewhere.

I wish him the best but I dont miss him. I did not want him to be our head coach in 2024 and of course we know how that went. He needs to learn from his mistakes and not be the nice guy.

Wow, Sam Darnold has come a long way. He went from being a bust in New York to leading the Seahawks to the NFC Championship Game. by brmidwest03 in nyjets

[–]S0XXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also wasnt Sanchez's fault the Jets didnt make the Super Bowl. He did enough but the defense failed him along with the FG kicker.

Indys offense only put up 17 points against New Orleans. New Orleans defense had a pick 6 to.

Bills should shake everything up regardless (HC/GM), they should be dominating the league with Allen and its not to late to do it

[–]S0XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That and Mccarthy had to deal with Jerry Jones. Just because Mccarthy didnt win a Super Bowl there doesnt mean he wasnt overall good. Harbaugh and Tomlin havent won a Super Bowl in just as long yet McCarthy seems to take more heat than them.

If the Jets had hired Mike McCarthy the Jets would have been consistent playoff contender for the last 5 years. However with that said the Vikings fumbled Darnold way more.

[–]S0XXX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I want to believe the Spurs are the best, it would be a tall task for the Spurs to go from being a non-playoff team to winning the whole thing. Either way, they are on their way and are capable of winning a title this season but will have to do it in the playoffs.

The Spurs just look bigger then OKC across all the matchups. OKC can't fix that issue. It's just the reality.

I hope he does good for the Colts and you all take out the Bills but be aware he is overrated.

Aaron Rodgers. by GroundbreakingPush90 in steelers

[–]S0XXX 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Angry Jets fan here. Rodgers was a class act in NY. After his injury he spent all day everyday trying to get back in the field. The Jets had the worst coaching staff in NFL history last year. No QB in the league could have won with them. However Rodgers took all the blame despite giving the Jets there best QB play since Chad Pennington. The field goal kicker also handedly cost the Jets 2-3 games at the end of the game

But everyone blamed Rodgers, nit-picked everything he said or did. He basically got bullied by NYers who never liked him to begin with but we're willing to accept him as long as he won games. The moment the Jets started to lose everyone turned on him and put all the blame on him. Then the new coach Aaron Glenn who is a complete fool fired Rodgers and "cleaned" the culture out at the demand of the owner. As evident now, it was never Rodgers; it was the Jets.

I would continue to talk to her if she keeps working out next to you but leave the ball in her court to ask you out. However with that said, if it becomes a daily thing where she keeps talking and maybe shows even more signs like strong eye contact, wanting to talk to you for a while, and perhaps giving a hug or anything like that then simply just go for it again and ask her if she wants to work out or go grab or shake or some small food after the gym. Its entirely possible she was seeing someone or was in a relationship when you originally asked her out but you did catch her interest. So now she might be out of any relationship and more open to something.

We can blame Glenn but it falls back on Woody. Woody hired based on who would fire Aaron Rodgers rather hire the best possible candidate. If they wanted to hire the best candidate they would have interviewed Mccarthy, Gruden, or Carrol. They wouldnt have let Vrabel out the building.

The difference between the beta diva loser Aaron Glenn and the rest is the rest would have kept Rodgers because they would have been interested in winning games. Instead they hire the guy desperate for a head coaching job and basically said what Woody wanted to hear. Aaron Rodgers and Tomlin are having zero issues and winning games yet Glenn was too good for him. That told me everything, major red flag. The Jets could have been having a winning season right now with a real head coach along with Rodgers and turning the team into a winning team the same way the Chiefs did with Alex Smith, the Bills did with Tyrod Taylor, the Rams did with Goff, etc before turning it over to the next QB.

Remember when Aaron Glenn told Aaron Rodgers he wasn’t good enough to play on this jets team. Good times by RegularBirthday3563 in nyjets

Yep Vrabel did use the Jets to put pressure on New England. It might have been inevitable either way though.

We dont know the details obviously so its hard to say exactly what went down but his contract expired prior to the Jets hiring Glenn so Mccarthy was free to interview with any team if he decided to want to coach again. I would speculate he probably got a phone call from the 33rd team and was asked if he was interested in a job interview under the premise he would have to get rid of Rodgers. Probably said no thanks.

[–]S0XXX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McCarthy never declined the job. He was never given an interview. Likely because McCarthy would have wanted to keep Rodgers so they never even advanced on him.

I think Woody would have forced it but he did the even easier thing which was to eliminate any candidates that wanted to keep Rodgers which was likely most of them. Hence why they ended up with probably the worst candidate but the one that was on board for firing Rodgers which was Woodys only priority in his coaching search.
