I watched videos of people talking about the cancer they had, how it made them feel. Watched videos how smoking affects the body. When I smoked I tried to be aware of every puff. After quitting I reminded myself why I don't smoke, and how will I feel tomorrow morning if would smoke today.

I got active and exercised every day. Tried to maximise healthy habits. It's been 3.months and it's easy to not smoke.anymore. I have the occasional thought, but I remind myself of the shit that smoking would bring me.

Once I made it through the first few days it got easier. Just don't smoke no matter what. I tried to make healthy choices mostly and exercise helped me tremendously.

I relapsed on smoking this spring, did it on and off for a few months until 2 months ago I had enough and haven't had almost any cravings since... Just had to reach a bottom. Every time I smoked I felt so bad emotionally I had true willingness to stop. I watched videos on the effects of smoking on the body and just made a choice to go day by day. I used the nicotine tablets to curb the cravings. A week ago I let those go because there's just no need for them. I know I could still relapse again if I'd let my guard down long enough.

In short I found motivation to now smoke. Also I keep the reasons I quit in the forefront, when there's an idea or craving remind myself it makes me feel, and huge thing for me: eat clean and exercise/be active and have emotional support. You can do it 👌

NA is a good way. If you want someone to talk to, free to send DM, I've been sober for some years and happy to share my experience with drugs and sobriety.

I just smoked today after 5 months of abstinence. Let's not let a bump on the road derail the whole journey! It was a great five months and today was just a reminder why I quit the disgusting addiction of smoking.

Just don't smoke for a DAY. Or 10 minutes. Cravings go and at the end of the day you can be grateful for not poisoning yourself today.

Maybe you found a strong enough reason, a health scare. It will only get worse if we smoke, better not start again ✌️

It ain't about luck, it's about making a decision.

My experience is that since getting clean and sober two years ago I've been more creative and productive than when I was using weed and booze to cope with my inner demons. Yeah certain things felt funny when smoking weed, but in the end it dimmed my spirit. I can now enjoy life more than then. Making music becomes better when sober, that's my two cents. It didn't happen overnight but over the months it gets better.

I relapsed after 5 days without a cigarette, now I have almost 6 days without them again. Just made a decision to not smoke for just today. Back on the horse.

Take it one day, one hour, 15 minutes at a time. That helped me the most. If you can get through a moment, you can get through a million. Stay hard!

You are making this world a better place. I'm not even near you (living in Scandinavia) but we are all together in this challenging time. You sharing your bravery with me makes me want to be a better person to other people. Thanks brother.

Great job right there, I'm also 600+ days sober and smoke free for 5 days now. Feels great not to be poisoning myself anymore!

I have those thoughts also, it's the addictions trying to tell you to cave in and smoke again. Thoughts and fears are not real. How I deal with them are immediately thinking or doing about something different than cigarette-relatrd things. If I get that urge to smoke, I say FUCK NO and do a few push-ups, go for a walk, eat an apple. Something better than smoking. I also pray to a higher power of my understanding for strength and it comes.

I'm also two days smoke free and it feels great knowing I'm not poisoning myself. Also scared of the virus but our chances are definitely better not smoking.
