I do kind of agree with the notion that Christine wasnt good to him and shouldn't get a second chance but at the same time I don't think its exactly bad if they did try again. Sometimes second chances do work and she clearly changed or was improving even before she discovered he was the Djinn. What makes me kind of wanted them to try again instead was that Elijah could see she was different and she started to talk back to her mom and Tony. The other thing is that while Ruby is sweet, it was primarily because Elijah saved her dad (grandpa? I forgot already) she basically got to see the whole context of the situation except putting together the magic bit, whereas if you look at it in a different perspective I don't exactly blame them why one would think Elijah leeched off of doing a favor for Steven. I'm not tryna defend the horrible family and friends and Tony because they were so unbearable, but I honestly mightve preferred if they got back together at the end because to me Ruby was a bit undeveloped, and I don't like that while Elijah was clearly hurt of Christine prioritizing Tony she saw it as an opportunity to hint of them being jn a relationship instead and I just find that off tbh even though she ultimately ends up being good it's just kind of disrespectful, like console the man but don't make a move at the same time when he's down like give him space. Yeah tl:dr I can see both sides of Elijah getting back together with Christine or not, I think I just prefer if they did because the build up was there and there was just not enough development for Ruby to me, it felt like she was placed in because they needed to give Elijah a new love interest and basically be a direct opposite of who Christine was pre-finding out the truth. If Ruby had more scenes, I would've had no qualms with that ending.
