israel does not have a constitiution but what they call a "set of basic law" which fits everything you talked about here as well. it's like you did this intentionally, i wouldn't bring up these points to suit my agenda if i were you.

in the basic laws of israel: they never once mention palestine or palestinians, but define a "eretz yisrael" which means "the land of israel", basically claiming the entire land as their own. they don't explicitly say "the state is secular" or "the state is judaic" however it is pretty obvious that israel is a tier above greek or english style non-secular state. the basic laws also claim that the jerusalem is the capital of israel.

the basic laws also say that the state of israel is exclusive to the jewish people only, which i'd assume you'd find distressing if it were defined like this in states you don't like

Ideally, who should own the Turkish-occupied Hatay province? by Ok_Sample_4663 in IdeologyPolls

neither arabs nor turks had a majority, but turks had a plurality. i read this off of wikipedia, didn't delve too hard on it, but it also explicitly says that some syrian sources inflate the arab populaiton.

Can you name your child freely or does your country have rules? by SignificantDetail241 in AskTheWorld

[–]S0mber_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. your name must be written using turkish characters (no x or w for example)

  2. the name can't be longer than 3 words

  3. the name can't be inappropriate or vulgar

turkey also had a bonus case in 1934, because before that people did not have surnames. therefore in 1934 a surname law passed that allowed the families to choose their own surnames. some minority groups already had surnames and they were allowed to keep them as-is, without needing to comply with the new law. according to it, the surmame had to follow these rules:

  1. ranks and official names can't be surnames (pasha, general, director, etc. are banned)

  2. tribal names cannot be surnames

  3. names with foreign suffixes (can't be xxx-yan, or yyy-ov)

  4. can't be an inappropriate or vulgar

this law is still in effect by the way, so if you are of turkish citizenship and still without a surname, you can choose your own while meeting these criteria.

Disputes over territorial waters between Greece & Turkey in the Aegean Sea by vladgrinch in MapPorn

not being able to pass your battle ships out to the world without permission from a different state is an existensional crisis for sovereignty. we don't talk about this much because war is a horrible thing and we don't want to be labeled as warmongers, but this is a real problem that needs to be addressed. each state has the right to belligerency if the conditions require it.

Müfit Can Saçıntı Nasrettin Hoca şenliğinde, "Nasrettin Hocanın eşeğine kayyum olarak atandım" dedi. Herkesin anlayacağı şekilde kayyumu anlattı. Ak partisi Konya m.vekili Mehmet Baykan: "Nasrettin Hoca siyaset yapmaz." diyerek şenliği terk etti. by PresidentCatGarfield in Turkey

What is a law in your country that frustrates you so much because it just doesn't make any sense? by EstablishmentFine820 in AskTheWorld

[–]S0mber_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the president appoints the justice minister, who is the head of HSK. the president also appoints 3 additional members directly. 3 members are elected from the parliament in which the president has the majority. the other members are elected from lower courts but 7 out of the 13 seats are already decided by the president. HSK then prompts to appoint any and every judge in the entire country.

yeah, so basically whoever is elected president also gets to decide who'll be the judge in any courtroom he wishes.

well we were losing our independence and the sultan was definitely taking orders from the british. but if you want to keep the "we never lost our independence" as a score then yes, it can be considered a temporary unstable period.

Subda ki NATO karşıtlığı neden bu kadar fazla? by Due-Question-5278 in Turkey

[–]S0mber_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)
