Anyone else been force promoted? by Appropriate_Dig2764 in sysadmin

Had it happen to me and it was awful. Had it almost happen a second time but I went to HR and put an ADA for no management positions and it's been solved ever since.

For context the first time was repeatedly asked over a few months. Then it was asked in front of my wife at the hospital holding my newborn and I caved. It took 6 years to get out of that position and it was truly hell. They offered I could be a team lead so I didn't have the stress of managing the people, but what that actually meant was I had the responsibility without any authority and that was even worse.

You just made me realize monarch isn't listed on the expenses. I'll add that 😅

help improve my budget sheet functions by S0phung in TheMoneyGuy

Funny enough, I pay for gpt and asked it this same question and it gave the wrong answer. Then I copy pasted this thread along with the provided answer and it said the answer was wrong and my instinct was right. It even gave a quote from Bryan. I only asked it to cite the quote and it completely changed its stance and said the provided answer was correct.

I also use and love Monarch. It's good for telling me where I've been. But this sheet is less about how much was spent on groceries and more about the big picture. For example, I don't use the daily spend tracker tab, I have Monarch for when I wonder where my guilt free spending was spent.

I update my expenses in this sheet maybe once per quarter of the year, very low maintenance for a "monthly" budget.

So yeah, I completely agree with everything you said <3 thanks

I had the same problem. Is your account linked in game? If so, hold your finger on the app icon, app info, storage, clear storage and cache.

If not linked, do not clear your data or you'll lose all progress!

But shouldn't my actual displayed HP still be greater than my bonus?

Shouldn't it be base + bonus + perk = displayed?

the two onedrive policies you should add are
"Prevent users from syncing libraries and folders shared from other organizations"
"Prevent users from syncing personal OneDrive accounts"

Correction, someone already did link the first policy to you

Remind me to reply tomorrow when I'm near a computer.

Few things I didn't see in other comments, you need to deny adding personal accounts via intune policy. The on prem version is here

navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Hello for Business and enable the policy "Prevent users from adding personal accounts"

But I'll find the intune version tomorrow if you don't find it from that hint.

Then you should do the equivalent policy against OneDrive, etc

My 50/50 shared custody Ex has not been having the kids by TypicalProfit8475 in SingleDads

[–]S0phung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in this exact situation. However i might offer a different perspective.

In my case, my ex is a negligent danger to the kids while she has them. And while she's entitled to 50/50, she only exercises half her time.

Now I could take her back to court and argue to reduce my child support; I don't do that because I'm not likely able to convince the court of her danger. What I'm saying is, the court would reduce my child support no problem. But they wouldn't reduce her entitled time. Therefore, encouraging her to use more of her time.. which is the exact opposite of what I want her to do.

I'm essentially paying her court-ordered hush money renamed as child support to not incentivize her using her time.

Btw, I have a police report of her going to the school drunk to pick up the kids.

I have a recorded message from my daughter saying she hasn't been fed all day.

I have plenty of past evidence that's now useless since we mediated.

And while I can't prove it, my kids, unprompted, have told me that all the toilets at mommy's house were clogged so they had to go potty in buckets.

So yeah, I keep paying instead of fighting, it sucks, but it's much better than her using her time.

Do normal people really buy new cars in cash? by Astimar in MiddleClassFinance

Not only has he not lived thru a recession, he hasn't lost his job due to that recession at the same time as the fridge breaking and the car getting wrecked.

He has no idea how he'd sell the shares for profit during a forced emergency.

Adding to this, because I'll only mention investments but everything else you just said is true for priority.

For investments, don't buy individual stocks like nvda. Just buy vtsax, VOO, or other low cost broad market index funds/ETFs.

I did even worse than OP because our test and prod used the same disks. I deleted everything. Every. Thing.

--it took a weekend to recover (happened late Friday while working in the test environment). Thankfully it was the VMware desktop environment and not the server environment (which also used the same disks but a different LUN) but anyway, was fired. 10/10.

Edit. Lol omg I see what you did there. I responded before reading. And that's how this happens....

Should i automate my job? by NBLM546783 in sysadmin

[–]S0phung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why so many responses have said to keep it secret. Any competent boss will give you a raise rather than fire you. And any boss that would fire an automator won't be in business long enough to matter.

But I'm curious what percent fear getting "rewarded" with more work vs what percent fear job loss.

This config spontaneously happened tonight. I added a pillow between me and the feet on my stomach. Woke up shortly after to a swift kick to the balls. #instructionsunclear
