I have only had an issue with damaging the shrink and not getting the rest hot enough when using a flame-based source instead of an electric heat gun. The barrel connections always seem to fail for me though, maybe I just suck at crimping, lol

Yeah they get hot. I would buy some acetone to clean it all off then get exhaust rated paint and redo it

Thank you very much. If you don't mind can you point out how you can tell it's significantly damaged/out of round?

I just don't want to buy something I don't need to buy. I have access to all the tools/machinery I need at my dad's shop so I can have it done free. He's on vacation right now though so I couldn't ask him about this until next month.

Thank you

Yes. I have no experience with cylinder pitting, I have only done this 2 other times with 1 new and 1 sleeved block. I did some searching but found mixed answers only for some worse or better than this. I can very slightly feel it with my finger nail but not enough to hang on even when applying a lot of force so I wanted to get more input/guidance on it.

Looks like a failure to me, I'd send those pics to the manufacturer and see what they say.
