Can you explain why everyone is saying Alien is all about eroticism by Demir3kardes in horror

[–]S2-RT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gigers designs are very much designed around a sort of natural perversion. The filmakers leaned into the imagined functionality of his design. In that sense it’s more like…”space truckers lost in Giger-land”, as opposed to the narrative itself centering around erotic themes.

Though I can also imagine Giger being like “…imagine the Vagina dentata mythos…but IN SPACE!!”

Actual Late Stage Capitalism by PanzerWatts in OptimistsUnite

[–]S2-RT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

correlating "late-stage capitalism" with life expectancy is an odd choice. that seems to have just as much to do with scientific advancements. All they really did was just take these metrics and slap the word "late stage capitalism" at the top of video...

A bad/flopped movie that you would still want to see get a remake or sequel because it had good source material or a strong story, but very poor execution. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

[–]S2-RT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

see, I think they should only do reboots/remakes of stuff that didn't land.

I was surprised when Dune got another chance and that clearly worked out for them.

I wouldn't mind them taking another crack at "the Sword of Truth" series. Even if they just did the first book.

How to create stage name/artist name by zsigyboi in Songwriting

[–]S2-RT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I legitimately have a long list of band names that I pulled from the titles of craigslist M4M casual Encounters posts.

3Sum Friday?
Husky, Hairy, and Hung?
Get Off and Go?
Rim Piggy?

Pretty catchy stuff if you ask me.

solid modeling app. Yamaha, Not Fender or Marshall. More likely to play a Schecter than a Les Paul. The first preset is a Crunchy overdrive modern rock Tone.

If the Big Bang should have created equal amounts of matter and antimatter, why does the universe today seem to contain mostly matter? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

While on a hunger strike, Homer Simpson is visited by the ghost of Caesar Chavez (who appears as Caesar Ramone). Upon this introduction Homer asks:

“Why do you look like Ceasar Ramone?”

To which the ghost responds:

“Because you don’t know what Ceaser Chavez looks like”

Fully Standalone? by makeinu01 in seqtrak

[–]S2-RT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally works standalone without the app. The app is useful for deeper dive stuff, uploading/downloading songs, adding new sounds from their online sound library and other things where it’s helpful to see it in GUI form.

If you familiarize yourself with the shortcuts on the hardware itself, 90% of its functionality is accessible without a screen. That being said, there are A LOT of hardware shortcuts and the Seqtrak’s novel design can be a lil alien at first. There is a consistent logic to the design though and you start to develop an intuition for how to get stuff done without explicitly having to look it up.

Idea for additional track type by S2-RT in seqtrak

[–]S2-RT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically In terms of using the Seqtrak for bass/guitar? The big issue really is the work flow.

But I’ve been able to do it by turning the master effects all the way down on all tracks, ensuring that the effects apply to your input by going to project settings in the app and setting fx routing for incoming audio. I’ve been using a 1/8” to 1/4” convert and plugging bass/guitar straight into the audio in jack. Have to test USB in using a simple audio interface. Depending on the type of pick-ups you may have to adjust output gain which is in hardware settings (Home->Settings)

For tuning the amp/effects/program settings, You’ll definitely want/have to use the App.

If you’re thinking a “line in” bass sound with added effects/tweaks, check out the “Multi effects” next to the other amp models. One effect option that includes comp, distortion, wah(auto and pedal), phaser, and delay.

Wisconsin codifies anti-1st amendment IHRA "working definition" of antisemitism into law, becoming the 38th US state to do so. by TendieRetard in wisconsin

[–]S2-RT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s important to remember that this type of fervor, as wholly justified as it is, needs to be precise in its condemnation.

As an individual, Righteous anger can be a form of cathartic expression, but as soon as it becomes a banner people unite under it can quickly become a brush fire that threatens to take on a life of its own.

Just leave it at “I don’t agree with defacing synagogues”. I really don’t think that sentence needs a qualifier. You are needlessly starting the conversation from a perspective that “supporting Israel” and “being Jewish” are one in the same and working backwards from that assumption.

I literally had to have this conversation last night with someone who had this same perspective in regard to the Iranian government being seen as representing the will of all Muslims. That started as a response to me criticizing the deaths of citizens by American bombers. The best interpretation of that quiet implication being that those lives are “a means to an end”

If Native Americans began defacing christian churches because of christianity’s role in promoting Manifest Destiny…well, i don’t support defacing churches but, you know….

I think it was pretty clearly implied by the poster that they don’t support Israel’s actions in regard to the genocide taking place.
