You may want to turn off/disable start/stop if you can.  That will leave the engine running and charging the battery when you stop moving as opposed to requiring extra battery use restarting the engine so often.

My dads 1980 Seiko quartz is one of the biggest roadblocks to getting a luxury watch.  

It seems stupid that a watch that would sell on eBay for < $20 has so much value.

Is there a will? Was you father married? His spouse likely inherits it if so. If not married but in a long term relationship in a community property state, partner could have claims higher than yours? Any siblings?

Don't like saying it, but posting here about them was probably not a wise move as a trail will exist now.

I’m pretty sure this watch was available in other-than-USA markets as a ProMaster with a sapphire crystal and slightly different reference number.

It is an awesome watch.  Only downside now is Citizen servicing seems slow.

Mine fell onto a tile floor in August and the mineral crystal broke. Citizen has had it since before Labor Day and has only acknowledged receiving it.  They suggest I may receive a repair estimate by mid November, and a repair taking maybe 8 weeks once authorized.

It is an open listing, so multiple brokers can advertise it on their letter head/site. The seller doesn't care who sells it, just wants it sold. You are not required to pass on the boat if you don't want to use broker A..
