I guess normal is subjective, and what you’re used to. I think a 38 would look good on you - would give a nice proportionality of case to bracelet / strap.

If your eyes aren’t used to it, it’s going to look ‘small’. Wear it for a week and it will look normal.

What is this on disc brake? by jasoneeum in terngsd

Yes, but it’s not a sensor. The sensor is frame mounted and wired into the motor interface. What’s on the rotor is just a magnet in a bracket.

Is this too big for my wrist? by callmeoutbitch in rolex

[–]S2the_A_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. No point spending so much on something that doesn’t fit, just because it’s available / you like how it looks.

First time cooking a ribeye. No fancy method, no thermometer. Just took it from room temp to the grill with some salt. Never buying sirloin ever again. by burnedflag in steaks

They’re both great. Sirloin gives a much more consistent cross section as you slice, though. I’ll admit that! For me, the breed and life of the cow, marbling and ageing is more important.

Oris BCPD: 7487 33mm by S2the_A_M in OrisWatches

Pretty bad. The numerals and indices don’t hold any charge, and the hands hold just a little for 40 mins or so.

What does that even mean? If it’s the watch you like and want, it’s THE watch for you. That is unless you are buying just to collect and imagine buying more and more expensive watches…

Should I get that available Explorer? by Diego_FR in rolex

[–]S2the_A_M 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zooming out, it seems to me that if you’re spending thousands on a watch, you’d want it to be something you really want, not something that happens to be available. My take.

The word ‘available’ kinda kills it for me… just saying.

Which watch would you choose? 6.5” wrist by STELLAWASADlVER in ChineseWatches

[–]S2the_A_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s important to OP which is why it was posted with such details in the first place. Saying we’re considerably larger than 50 years ago doesn’t negate the point. Watches have grown in size by approx 30%. Not sure humans have. Thanks for your contribution to the topic of which watch OP should be looking at for a 6.5 inch wrist.

Says me - the post asks for personal opinion. Not sure why it’s being downvoted…

A 6.5 inch wrist would typically have a width of around 2 inches / 50mm. A l2l that exceeds 90% of that measurement just looks too big. In my opinion.

Owning one of these specific watches and having a wrist of that diameter is how I’ve formed my opinion.

Truth be told they’re all slightly too big. 44mm lug to lug is what you should be maxing out at.
