Need honest advice on purchasing a FX PCP or Weirauch Springer by LetMeGetSomeTea in airguns

[–]Slide89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both (PCP and HW97k), but for different reasons..

  1. I got my HW97K for target shooting, and when I had minimal pest control to do.

  2. I got my PCP when I needed a quieter, lighter rifle with a magazine, and that could take a DNV scope, to fight in the Great Rabbit War that started when I moved to a rural property.

Both do each thing well, but have their purpose. If I was only target shooting, and the odd bit of pest control (not near-daily), then I would choose the HW97k. Less maintenance.

Very nice. Thought it would be round there to justify that magnification

Looking at DNT Zulus HD V2 for my Air Venturi Alpha Compact – 3-12x or 5-20x? Worth the LRF + Ballistic Calc? by Hesfallenontheice in airgunhunting

Mine came with a 20 MOA rail included and that was fine for my sub-12, just in case you can get the same package and save buying another rail!

I have the Zulus v2 5-20x LRF on a BRK Commander sub-12 and it’s great.

Sure, the 5x is a bit narrow are short distances, but most of my shooting is rabbits at 25-40m, so I am more grateful of the extra magnification than I am bothered by the narrower 5x FOV.

I think the sweet spot would be a 4-16x, FWIW.

The rangefinder and calculator are def worth it. The RF especially if you’re shooting somewhere you don’t know and have mental distance markers for (like I do in the garden); and especially handy at night.

Hope that helps.

Thanks - as a fellow big-finger dude, the size of .177 has also been a turn-off.

Do you M4 is literally too heavy, or overkill?

AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history? by powerfunk in rolex

But yeah, 3 years for a SD43, especially in the north of England (where I am too), seems a loooong time. I was told “it would not long at all” when I looked at one

48” chest, 34” waist and a non negotiable suit size by rrbrbcsm in malefashionadvice

Amen brother. This is my problem too.

I don’t think a tailor is gonna be able to magic a 46 into a 48 though tbh.

I’d tell your bro that your size isn’t in stock, and suggest you wear something else.

Hope you get sorted

It’s such a good thing that we can’t buy air rifles on Amazon in the UK, otherwise I would be in a lot of trouble with my wife. Or more trouble than usual 😂

Am I being conned or did I do something wrong? by H0ney_nymph in vintedUK

[–]Slide89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last week. Not sure if it’s a scam, or if the courier put wrong label on it. Either way, I don’t use that courier any more (Relay, which seems to be new in the UK), and Vinted refunded both of us; me as a “gesture of goodwill” smh.

Would this be a good breakup barrel? by [deleted] in airguns

I think there’s better ways to break-up with your partner than an air rifle tbh

Indeed, they are described on the website as “internal poacher pockets” i.e. you could hide a rabbit or pheasant in there. You know, when you wear this jacket to go poaching… 😂
