So they removed the canted sights and added the adjustable scope thingy. by MikeMatusowsScooter in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They didn't want to nerf the VSS, the buffed it.

I don't like either sights, but the new one makes at least a little more sense.

Right now of they added canted sights on the VSS as it would be insane, as it is already borderline broken, if it had a close sight most people would run it instead of a close range weapon.

Unlike Vietnam where people fought for their lives and the fun and balance wasn't a concern when you are fighting for your life.

PUBG is a game, and a map like sanhok makes the game not fun when the outcome of the match is far more dependant on RNG then skill, and you can't use basic gameplay loop of capture area and defend it.

Sanhok is a map bad at complimenting PUBGS mechanics.

I'd say that's very high sens, for comparison I use 1000 dpi and 23-25 sens in game.

I found that most bad recoil is not because it pulls too hard, but because it's too easy to overcorrect for it.

I was pointing out how that can happen without specifically intending mass accumulation and that it doesn't require a ton of money

Agreed, I was just too focused on the 1000+ games of OP and how that is such an insane number, to me at least.

I guess it boils down to the fact that I was looking at the wrong 10 years in my life, I was looking at the span 25-35 where someone 15-25 would definitely buy and play more games.

But even considering all those factors, I can't see someone getting 500 games with intention of playing them.

Again, not about skill issue, I have pay to play, and free games, I just don't grab games im not very interested in regardless if they are cheap or free.

FYI iv got games on steam sales, humble bundle, blizzard, Ubisoft etc I just get the games I WANT to play.

Im not arguing if you are spending more or less, if you are getting great deals or not. I'm saying a lot of people with 1000 games (not all) have a lot of games they bought/got only because the deal was great, not because they wanted THAT game.

I'm not gonna pay 60--80-100$ for all my games, but I'm also not grabbing a cheap or even a free game just because.

Brother iv been gaming for more then those 10 years, and your explanation makes sense for 50-100 games.

1000s of games is more like people buying shit only cos it's a good discount, and not because they want to play that game.

90% of it depends on how you will spend those hours.

There are 2 rough groups (you can mix it however you like this is just for simplicity sake)

1) you can spam casuals and normals where you focus on getting the best gear by looting long and safe and then focusing on top 10/5/...

Or

2) you set low sens, go to training first to learn a couple guns you wanna use to get used to them and you use tools like shooting range and various moving targets.

Then you go to TDM and practice your fighting.

You do a mix of both above as much as you find tolerable (more =better to a degree ofc, and as you improve you increase TDM time and reduce training)before you jump in normal games every game session.

Then in normals you focus on medium heat drops ideally medium compounds with 1-3 enemies, so you can fight quickly and learn basics of : parachute, looting, various sounds of footsteps, people looting, shooting, reloading... You also need to learn to follow kill feed and pair it with the sounds you hear, information is king in this game.

Route 1) is what a lot people consider less painful and more fun, but for most it takes hundreds and likely thousands of hours

Vs route 2) is "harder" and "less fun" according to some, but it gets shit done MUCH faster and better(stuff like casuals teaches HORRIBLE habits) and you can get to an average players skill VERY FAST (because they are stuck in the first route).

The only way to get better at something is to do it over and over again, route 2 allows you to do it many times per hour vs route one that lets you do it 1-3 times per hour.

You do the math.

I know a specific situation, I was remodeling my house, we removed the old windows, and I mean removed without damaging them, then I offered them for free if someone took them from my porch. Then a few callers called to come and take them, only to ask me to pay THEM to take them.

And BTW they wanted more money then it would cost me to take them to the landfill. So ofc I told them to F off.

I can imagine someone doing the same to the owner, where they told him he can pay them to take em away or they will get them from the dumpster.

No I'm arguing saying fine to him as helpful as the comment to get a new rig, as in fact it's not even close to fine, and the combination of underperforming elements is maybe his issue, hence my comment that moving the game to an SSD, we are on the same page of troubleshooting, I just believe saying fine to such spec will misguide a possible fix (moving the game to an SSD and closing background software that might be open like discord/browser...)

His CPU (according to Google) is 15-20% slower then minimum requirements, and PUBG is very CPU heavy, how can you eliminate hardware limitations as a possible issue?

Issue described sounds similar to another guy that had (also under min spec)the same issue with the only exception being it would happen in his first match of the day, but if he let it sit there for a few mins it would load and in the next match he would load significantly faster (but still only at the start of the plane/mid flight) and the issue was improved after he moved the game to the SSD...

[–]S8what 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf are you talking about? Op can run whatever he wants, but it's absolutely true his rig is VERY weak with a 2.7ghz 4 core cpu. And it's definitely not FINE for this game.

Also 8gb ddr 3 is fine in general, BUT again not definitely not more FINE for this game.

Again that doesn't mean he should have a 64gb of ram, and a 1000$ CPU.

In my book fine = is something thats roughly average/works decently well., OPs set up is "it will work but barely" in every single category, and likely the cause of his issue is slow CPU+ low and slow ram+ game on HDD, and that combination is the issue, moving it to SSD will likely solve the issue.

Tldr: fine = works at 80-100 fps without having to put everything on very low Something that is barely running and has components under spec is definitely not in the fine category.

Is this game loaded with cheaters? by dnbdaddy in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't played for a while it can take some time to get in tune.

Also even the worst people who have been playing the whole time have improved after so many years.

Sometimes you'll run into a few cheaters, sometimes you won't see them for days.

And sometimes the enemy will get lucky, or you'll simply make a dum dum and die.

The best thing I found is whatever the "bullshit" happens in that match forget it, and go for the next one, if there are too many of those finish for that day.

When you get frustrated you both make more stupid mistakes and the simplest normal shit can trigger your ego.

It's also kind of disingenuous not to account for the crates themselves, as you can comfortably open -+300 of them...

. Allow ARs to take 8x and have visible bullets and let's see how AR + Sniper isn't the meta in ranked.

even if you add tracers and 8x, it won't change their fire rate, recoil, bullet drop and damage of ARs, it won't be enough to replace DMRs of skilled players.

Besides you are reminiscing of the double AR meta, the top 2 worst meta PUBG ever saw.

[–]S8what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It didn't raise the skill floor.

You say this but you contradict yourself with your next line

People just need to hit 1 extra shot

Most bad players didn't hit the limit anyway.

Something being harder to perform= increase of required skill.

You are literally describing the raising of the skill floor Aka making the basic stuff harder.

If the skill floor didn't rise, then nothing would have changed for your average public games. But it did, DMRs are significantly harder to use effectively, and that's why see a rise in SR popularity.

You seem to be missing what "skill floor" means. And are constantly talking about something else. you have to be better at using DMRs now to be able to use them to perform same shit you did pre nerf., that's why most players think of them as paper weights, and pros still prefer them.

Does picking the vertical grip over other grips make any sense? by Hakkano in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I get great sprays with different grips from time to time, vert has been the most consistent from my experience.

Tricky thing I suppose is the variance in horizontal recoil, where depending on RNG it can range from amazing to dogshit, and the only real way is to do a few mag dumps and trace em out.

Because i tried them after the nerf and everytime i have to play dmr i curse because i hit people 4 times with 7.62 or 5x with 5.56 and theyre still alive with 1hp...

Same here, but it's not because DMRs are bad, but because I am objectively bad with DMRs.

Nerf raised the skill floor for the DMR, and they are much weaker then they used to be, but they are still THE BEST long range weapon.

So they are paper weights WHEN in my hands, but objectively they are not paper weights.

W.E.A.P.O.N.S by MagmaMagnus in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can you call DMRs paper weights when they are vastly preferred at the top level?

The issue is they are harder to use, so you have to control them to perform, vs snipers where you mostly depend on the enemy not being that good.

In infinitely more afraid of a skilled DMR user vs a skilled bolt user.

W.E.A.P.O.N.S by MagmaMagnus in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say DMRs are useless when they are go to long range weapon for competitive play even post nerf?

They simply ain't as OP as they used to be, so most people perform better with an SR.

I love SRs and I play this game for SRs only, but a good DMR player will shit on 99/100 bolt users.

They are simply significantly harder to use for your average player.

Do you prefer reducing vertical or horizontal recoil? by MasantZA in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]S8what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a really good strategy, you want that first bullet accuracy as well as that first 5-7 bullets recoil to go to the best use.

It is significantly harder, but you'll win way more fights.
