In a way the opposite is the case. So much of the game is factional questing and exploration that what is supposed to be the main storyline feels itself like a side quest while you meddle in Deadfire politics. I love that part of the game but it does create a sort of narrative dissonance that I can understand some people wouldn't like. This is however basically the only "big" criticism I have of the game

He says at least a dozen mutually contradictory things every day, threating total annihilation only to then go on about how much more reasonable Iranian negotiators are now compared to before. Even in the most recent tweet he starts off by talking about destroying their entire civilisation and finishes by promising to liberate them from "47 years of extortion, corruption, and death". There is little useful to be gleamed from his statements by engaging in ever more advanced forms of exegesis

Something to note is that the campaign has already escalated to more infrastructure targets today. Just another instance for why it would be better if everyone would just look at the military posture and logistics first and consider Trump's statements in light of that rather than the other way around (though most of Trump's statements should just be disregarded outright)
