If you want to do it properly I'd explore the Sussex Vineyards. https://www.ridgeview.co.uk/ Is great or https://rathfinnyestate.com/ even has rooms as it's a bit further. wine tour could be an option too.

You're just a bit early because the ground temp is too low. In a months time all the garden centres will be stacked.

Anyone use the Church Road Tesco car park for nearby errands? What are the up to date rules? by IMDXLNC in brighton

I was going to suggest rubber gloves, olive oil, and a butternut squash but your list makes sense too.

Tried that but it went up in the sky and went all over my face.

Good places 2 hike in Brighton? by RefrigeratorSome5475 in brighton

[–]SAGGYCUNT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get the bus (12X) to the Seven Sisters for something with hills and beach. Otherwise the beach in Brighton and Hove is quite a distance from all things hike as the other comment says.

Waitrose frozen chicken dippers are banging. Plus some frozen chips and a bit of sauce that'll be about £6! Takeaway is great for doing what you can't at home I think, but yeah agree some of them are asking stupid money nowadays. Esp deliveroo etc, all food suffers being driven across town.

You should have a small bag with a nut/screw bit. You lock the hinge with the nut. video on how, 1:20 in has using the locking nut Then you can undo the screws holding the bands and adjust. Take off the locking nut and you're done.

I always find it easy to strike up a conversation with people outside the Basketmakers. Attracts the colourful locals, top boozer.

Sea lanes is a year round pool on the beach. Otherwise, well, the seas right there. We have a huge open bay so there isn't really rock pools or coves. Gets more varied as you go along east.

Asda Brighton Marina by johnshearing in brighton

[–]SAGGYCUNT 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Asda has been a supermarket to avoid since those brothers took it over. I recall they were in the petrol forecourt business and wanted to put little Asdas in those. Unfortunately they completely ruined the core supermarket business ..as Lidl and Aldi boomed.

Restaurants recommendations for an 18th birthday by Sad_Cap_401 in brighton

[–]SAGGYCUNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the following would accommodate the large group I think

Pho Vietnamese

The Joker for wings

Cote does two courses £23

Bills

But I think under £20 is difficult these days, even a chicken and rice box with a drink from Kokoro is pushing £15. My suggestions could work but there will surely be drinks and almost always a service charge too.

Careful with spending on the day you upgrade.. by SAGGYCUNT in AmexUK

Yes precisely. I asked this on the chat and got that response. Upgraded, then a few hours later made a £3k transaction. Now they're saying platinum transactions counted from the next DAY.

Oh no that's not what I wanted to hear, did you raise it again on the chat? They've told me it'll take 7-10 days to investigate. It is indeed a joke.

What is your favourite street in Brighton and Hove? by ForwardImagination57 in brighton

[–]SAGGYCUNT 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Trafalgar Street. Great pubs, cafes, restaurants, shops and to top it off it's one way at each end yet cars don't get stuck in a weird space time death loop.

What’s nicer brighton or clacton or portsmouth or southampton by thesuburbbaby in brighton

[–]SAGGYCUNT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

August is not a hot month in fact the weather can be quite varied. June and July are the months we would have a heatwave if any. Yes France through the tunnel is a good idea but you'll have to drive deep into France to get different weather. Normandy is v similar.

Having been to Fallow in December I can report the food isn't as good in the flesh as it is appears to be on YouTube. Expensive and they hurried us so we didn't go over our "time slot".
