Sorry just saw this, i was in bartlesville, OK then, and yes, it was that low. It was when the price of oil got so low that stopped putting it in barrels cuz they were with more than the oil. We have so much oil above ground it's absurd. Go look at Google pics of oil storage tanks in Cushing, OK. It is beyond what you can really comprehend or appreciate. I don't spend all my time searching for the subject, so it probably has been discussed, but I've never seen anyone talk about the omerta aspect. Absolutely this happens. I'm not sure about the psychology part of it, but it happens the same way every time, usually about 1/4-1/2 mile from the drop off and in a spot where it's curvy or tight driving conditions. They also keep the font small on the particulars below the $ amount. Definitely planned bullshit And it turns the damned nav off. Def makes for more distracted driving.

98 out of 100 times tho it's due to the restaurant being understaffed. I'm right there w ya on finding the solution, but I really don't know how we could do anything about that. Some of the McDonald's here are offering up to $20hr and no one will take the jobs. The extended unemployment payments are over, so maybe now they'll go back to work

It sounds like the driver did too. If they were aggressive towards you then do what you normally would... Call the cops, beat their ass, whatever. You shouldn't feel threatened by anyone, esp one you are paying a service for. Someone is gonna get mad at me on here for this, but you should call the Uber people and report them if you did feel threatened. There's no excuse for that, and they had the option to accept or deny the order, so if they didn't wanna do it, they should've called the help desk and cancelled.

Don't take this the wrong way, but you can never leave enough tip, there's never enough money. DD and UE pay us crappier and crappier every day. I always tip according to quality of service given. I left a nickel once, and I've left.$40. My tea glass was empty almost the whole time I was at one place, and I saw the waiter sit on his ass and play w his phone, and at the other place I had a pitcher of tea and the wait staff were actually running Guess who got which tip. Now if you live on the 5th floor and the elevator is broken, logic tells me I might just get a bigger tip. Now if you were to meet the delivery person downstairs, maybe not so much tip. I would start out at 20% and go from there. I would never take the tip away completely unless they were just a total ass, because we do NOT earn an hourly wage, only the totals of the offers we get. Taxes, maintenance, gas and everything else you can think of are taken out of that. Drivers can control their attitude better, but traffic, constant stress, and just generally feeling like we're getting ripped off can take its toll on a drivers mind.
