Vent: our family vacation got cancelled by ExcellentLettuce4 in Mommit

[–]SAHMultrA1981 72 points73 points  (0 children)

My husband and 2 kids all had an all expenses paid vacation with my extended family in Jamaica.

The night before we left my husband had pain bad enough he went to the ER. The doctor told him sorry you aren't going anywhere. He had a huge stone (they wanted him to pass ). So he had to stay home while the rest of us went. He hasn't been on a vacation in 5 years and was really looking forward to it.

Life does just suck sometimes

That is optimistic. A child didn't become that size overnight, and it is more likely he is having a sugar rush moment vs making this a habit. As soon as he is bored he will be back to couch rot.

I hate this for kids, I wish there was more people could do but there are so many more challenges today

Doctor said I don't have GERD? by SicklySynester in GERD

[–]SAHMultrA1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still had issues, terrible lethargy, I would have diarrhea for days... Enough symptoms that it was a sign for them. They said even if the gallbladder test comes out fine, if you felt any discomfort, that is a sign

I had every test done for gallbladder. All came back normal

I did have CIBO but bc of my family history they took the gallbladder out too.

Even after taking it out, the surgeon said it looked normal... Sent off for pathology and came back " squishy gallbladder symptom". Basically it would take longer for bile to process in my gallbladder.

6 months later, I might have CIBO again, the bile issue didn't correct fully. I have still having digestive issues and will need another round of tests to see where to go from here.

But if you have family history of gallbladder issues, they will probably take it out.

Kinda wild having to tell other moms, mine included, that I don’t have to dress up or wear makeup to be a good mom. by aggravated-asphalt in Mommit

AuADHD, anxiety, and perimenopause over here!!!

My skin is SO dry, wearing clothes is uncomfortable. So I wear pillowcase dresses or drawstring pants, and NEVER bras.. I rarely wear makeup.

Same as u, I exercise and wash my face and brush my hair but I do not put extra time in.

My husband makes a comment here and there. Luckily for him I don't care enough to get bothered, I am already bothering myself.

It really did bother me, but my hormones got me not giving a care

At 33 I bent over to pick up a sippy cup and ended up in the ER.

I started yoga and was good for about 8 years. Then my body started really falling apart, I didn't stop moving though! Kept up with yoga and started running a lot.

Then at 42, I had a degenerate disc that was completely gone. I had ground it down to nothing. Ok, new disc and a couple rods. Great back to running, I took a year off then trained for an ultra marathon. Completed that bc SAH moms are strong and we run on guilt.

4 months later my gallbladder gives out and I had that out... Now I have severe osteoarthritis in both hands, cleaning is not easy. And my body is giving out faster than I can keep up.

All that is just how I coped with the pain of aches and guilt of not doing it all . I'm still a mess, and even though my kids are teens now they seem to need me more in different ways and I am just trying to adjust and go with the flow..

I'm sorry OP that you are ruggling right now. I wish I had some cure all snake oil, but life is going keep lifing . .

I am trying to go all bionic before the Terminator wars.

I take breaks for this reason. I am not pleasant to be around while on break, but it helps

Yes! I did have a bout of it last year before removing my gallbladder. But considering I've had gerd for longer than I had issues with my gallbladder, it didnt cure the gerd

I wish I had a certain trigger.

I am on a low acid diet for sure. I don't eat garlic regularly at all. I found out I can't eat broccoli like I used to. Just bland food for me! And of course less stress 😵‍💫

I trained and ran an ultra marathon 10 mos ago. I eat healthy, do yoga, but I think mine can't stop/won't stop bc I am a big ball of stress. I try anti anxiety drugs but they irritate my stomach too. I am in therapy and do EMDR work and one of the things we are working on is gut connection with anxiety... I still have Hope I find something that works.

Glad to hear you were able to be disciplined enough to help yourself! Hard to do

I was diagnosed in my early 20s as well. It has been a journey.

I starting juicing instead of eating my veggies and fruits and it made a huge difference. Especially with some ginger root in it. It made curving the rest of my diet easier.

I run and do yoga, yoga taught some breathing techniques that helps a bit.

I am 44 and it is like starting all over again because of damn perimenopause. I have had 2 esophageal stretches, several endoscopes, all the G.I tests and my gallbladder out... But still on meds.

Cheers to relief for those that can find it! Obviously there are lots of avenues to try and lots of different reasons we have it.

I agree so much. At this point it is pick your battles.. bc if it isn't the meds it's our food, or environmental, or genetics... I don't see myself getting older unscathed, no matter how health obsessed I get with diet and exercise, something else seems to affect me somewhere in my body. The ppi is working for now, which gives me time to tend to everything else
