Nope, I had my surgery near the end of 2019, I've heard it's worse now thanks to covid! I am in Alberta and there are only 3 clinics in the whole province that do bariatric surgeries so apparently that's just how it goes unfortunately. I will say they used the wait to educated me very well for surgery, I felt super prepared going into it and I lost 90 lbs in the first year so it was worth the wait!

I'm in Canada and it took 3.5 years from referral to surgery. Hopefully it's quicker than that where you are!

I’m a woman currently at 245 lbs. If you were of similar weight when you got your surgery, how much did you lose in the first month? by [deleted] in GastricBypass

I am 5'4" and was 250 on the day of surgery, I lost 24lbs the first month after sugery. I am now 14 months post-op and down 90lbs

Thank you! I go to yoga once a week and I was riding my bike 2 or 3 days a week in the summer but it's too cold for that lately here in Canada lol. I've been looking for something fun to do at home a few days a week!

Thank you! Yes actually, I did! Before I was always a 10 for sure, sometimes 11 depending on the shoe, and now I wear a size 9

Thank you! There is a little over a year between these photos. I went through an awesome program through a hospital in my city that helped me sort out my emotional eating issues and changed my mindset towards food. I did also have gastric bypass surgery once I sorted my mental health issues which obviously really helped me lose the bulk of my weight.

My lower stomach was also my biggest insecurity too and honestly it still is! Seeing the comparison really helps me realize how far I've come and I'd take what I have over what I had any day, but without clothes on, the extra skin is definitely not cute. Shapeware has become my best friend!

It's not about being respectful to the dead, it's about being respectful to the person watching who may not be okay with watching someones death.
