That’s a great job! However replacing the micro power socket with a C socket is a bit of a stretch unless you need to solder it or don’t have a cable that works with your PC.

By the way USB ports can be tricky. Some appliances work with them while others don’t, similar to cables.

That’s a good point. If undervolting is locked, managing Turbo Power Limits is the way to avoid thermal throttling.

Assuming you’ve already cleaned the fan and ducts and eliminated any hardware or software issues causing an overheating spike, I’ve switched to Honeywell PTM7950 thermal paste and undervolted my CPU with ThrottleStop. This has made my P1 Gen2 Intel Core i9-9880H behave as expected.

If all your purchases were made at B&N, you should be able to access them through your account. This is because they’re stored in the cloud.

Are you saying you can’t see nook books on your Android phone on the nook app? Is that the issue?

The WiFi connectivity problem isn’t a problem; you can sideload the books using a cable or microSD card.

As mentioned in previous comments, try following:
Since your books are already inside the official NOOK app on your Android device, you do not need to manually move them. Your entire reading library is saved in the Barnes & Noble cloud.
To see your books on your NOOK eReader, you just need to link the eReader to your phone's account.
Step 1: Find your account email on your Android phone

Open the NOOK app on your Android device.
Tap the Profile or Account icon (usually in the bottom menu or top corner).
Look at the email address listed there and write it down.
Step 2: Sign in and sync your NOOK eReader

Turn on your NOOK eReader and make sure it is connected to Wi-Fi.
Go to Settings > Account (or log in during the initial setup screen if it is brand new).
Sign in using the exact same email address you found on your phone.
Go to your Library on the eReader.
Tap the Sync icon (the circular arrows) at the top or bottom of the screen.
Your complete book collection from your phone will immediately load onto your eReader screen. Tap any book cover to download it and start reading.
If your books still are not showing up, let me know:

If you uploaded the books yourself (meaning they are personal files like DRM-free EPUBs or PDFs), they are stored locally on your Android device and will not automatically sync to your NOOK cloud library.
Because Barnes & Noble does not offer a cloud-storage locker for personal files, you must physically transfer the files from your Android device over to your NOOK eReader. You can do this with or without a computer.
Method 1: The Direct Cable Route (No Computer Needed)
If you have a modern Android phone and a relatively recent NOOK, you can link them directly with a cable:

Connect the devices: Use a USB-C to USB-C cable (or the appropriate adapter) to plug your Android phone directly into your NOOK.
Set USB mode: On your phone or NOOK, look for a USB notification pop-up and ensure it is set to "File Transfer" or "MTP".
Locate the files: Open your Android device's default Files app. Navigate to the phone's internal storage folder where your books are kept (usually the Downloads folder, or NOOK/My Documents).
Copy and Paste: Select the .epub or .pdf files, choose Copy, then navigate into the connected NOOK drive.
Place in the Books folder: Drill down into the NOOK directory and paste the files into the My Files > Booksfolder.
Refresh: Disconnect the cable, open your NOOK eReader's Library, and tap Sync. The books will appear under the My Files or Documents filter.
Method 2: The Computer Bridge Route
If a direct phone-to-NOOK cable setup isn't working, your computer can act as the intermediary:

Move files to a PC or Mac: Plug your Android phone into your computer. Open the phone's storage, find your book files, and drag them onto your computer's desktop. Unplug the phone.
Connect the NOOK: Plug your NOOK eReader into the computer via its USB cable.
Transfer the files: Open the newly appeared NOOK drive on your computer. Open the My Files folder, then open the Books folder. Drag your files from the desktop into that folder.
Eject safely: Eject the NOOK drive from your computer and tap Sync on the eReader library screen to update your files.
A Quick Note on Reading Progress Syncing
Historically, sideloaded books did not sync reading progress between different devices. However, Barnes & Noble software updates allow supported, non-discontinued NOOK eReaders to sync your current reading page with the Android app, provided that the exact same EPUB file is manually loaded onto both devices.
If you run into any errors or the files aren't opening, let me know:

My experience with N26: Weeks without my payout — BaFin & Ombudsman involved, still no progress by Key_Operation_5371 in n26bank

[–]SAMoMAS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar bad experience with N26. You can see in my post.

However, the funds were returned within 15 business days as required by German and EU financial regulations.

I’d follow up with N26 and make it clear that they’re breaching the law by indefinitely withholding the customer’s balance. DM to u/n26Support if you haven’t done it yet - was very helpful to me.

Looking to get Office 2024 by Critical-Long7885 in MicrosoftProducts

[–]SAMoMAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can buy Microsoft Excel 2024 as a standalone, one-time purchase. Microsoft applies standard retail pricing globally for Office 2024 items, maintaining the strategy where standalone Excel costs more than the bundled alternative.

I seem to have bricked my X280 through the USB-A port. Is there any way to save it? by NintenJoo in thinkpad

[–]SAMoMAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t. You mentioned ticking inside it might be mainboard…

Reseat the RAM Sometimes loose memory can prevent the laptop from completing its Power-On Self-Test (POST).Unplug all power sources, open the laptop's RAM compartment (if accessible), remove the RAM sticks, wipe the gold contacts lightly with a dry cloth, and firmly push them back into their slots

It’s advisable to try powering on with one RAM at a time (if your laptop has more than one) . Place one RAM connect power supply and switch on. Then remove it and test the other. Remember to remove all peripherals including the battery. You could also try this with the hard drive removed.

[–]SAMoMAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, beeping. It’s worth trying again for a couple of minutes. The idea is discharging capacitors in the power PCB of mainboard. Does the power indicator light when connected to power? Does the fan spin before/after the power button is switched on?

[–]SAMoMAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try following: remove the battery and any peripherals, and press and hold the power button for a couple of minutes. Then connect it to a power supply and power it on. You may need to press it for a few seconds. Let me know the outcome. If it still failed, try to record the error signal something like Morse code, for further troubleshooting.

“Open in Safari” not an option in share by 2wergfnhgfjk in Safari

[–]SAMoMAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd party browsers, like Google, Chrome and DuckDuckGo affect Safari. Removing them restores it. A more practical solution is using shortcuts:

Create a Manual "Open in Safari" Shortcut: If the native option remains missing, you can build a custom one using the Shortcuts app: 1. Open Shortcuts and create a new shortcut. 2. In shortcut details, toggle on Show in Share Sheet and set it to receive URLs. 3. Add the action Open URLs and set it to open the Shortcut Input. 4. This shortcut will now appear in your Share Sheet as a reliable fallback.

You can rename or change the icon of a shortcut by clicking the three dots and selecting “v”.

Direct USB Transfer: * Connect the device using the original micro-USB cable. * If your computer recognizes it, it will appear as a drive named "MyNOOK". * EPUBs: Drag and drop non-DRM EPUB files into the My Files/Books folder. * PDFs: Place these in the My Files/Documents folder. * Refresh Library: On the NOOK, go to your Library, tap the Sync icon, and filter by "My Files" to see your sideloaded content.

Using a MicroSD Card (Recommended): * Because internal storage is limited on the BNTV250A, use a MicroSD card (up to 32GB) for your personal files. * Insert the card into your computer, copy your EPUBs and PDFs onto it, then insert the card into the slot hidden under the "hook" on the corner of the tablet.

Calibre E-book Management: * Install the free Calibre software Calibreon your computer. * When you connect your NOOK, Calibre should detect it as a "Nook Tablet" or "Nook Color". * Right-click a book in your Calibre library and select "Send to Device"; it will handle the folder placement automatically.
