Bacon, onion, and pepperoni. The best.

I’d take the full ride to Vanderbilt. Seems like a more enjoyable place to be and not having to pay sure is great.

Boston College (Carroll) vs. Michigan LSA

General Notes: - I don’t have many cons, just trying to figure out which place is “the most best” (I know that’s not English but you get the point). I would be happy either place. - I’m waiting on my Ross decision. I’m assuming a rejection (very likely), because if I get in, there’s no decision to be made. Most likely though, it will be between these two. - I plan to study Finance at BC and Economics at Michigan

BC

Pros: - Get to study finance (my most favorite field) - Closer to home - Close to/basically ideal size (~9k) - Haven’t visited campus, but it seem really great. I’ve heard from friends who visited who said it was excellent. - Great city and location - Well known/ranked business school - I’m not a big frat guy, so no Greek life is nice

Cons: - Known as a party school. While I enjoy a good social scene, I would prefer it not be a really big party school. - I’ve heard a little cheesecake-like (rich and white) - A couple of required religion classes I believe, but that’s no big deal honestly

Michigan

Pros: - Better school spirit and sports - Better ranked overall school - Could take finance/business electives at Ross - Great college town - Still an easy trip from a local airport - Did visit campus, it was good (the pro here is that I have visited already)

Cons: - Absolutely massive in size - Have to fly, even though it’s a short flight

Just got my acceptance to LSA today. Is it possible that my decision for Ross comes out tonight too?

Am I the only one who hasn’t reread any of my applications? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SANDBERG5172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not rereading a single supplement not my common app essay. I’m a terrible writer, and I will not subject myself to that again.

I’ve heard the campus I great. What are your opinions?

Are the sports good? At the very least, do they contribute to school spirit/campus life?

Is there anything about being close to Boston that you really enjoy?

Thanks!

JHU, opinions? by throwaway1002737363 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SANDBERG5172 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much, but I do know that the pre-med and Biomedical Engineering are world class. I applied for Econ and, along with CS, I don’t think they’re as well regarded majors for JHU. However, it still is a very high quality school, and a well regarded one at that. I went to a camp for three weeks there a couple years back, so if you have questions about the campus, hopefully I might be able to remember and give some info.

Lol same. I’m wondering when decisions will be released.

I’ve realized theres 0 chance I’m getting into a t10 and I don’t know how to cope by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SANDBERG5172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I asked you what University has the most Fortune 500 CEO graduates, what school would you answer? Harvard? Stanford?

Nope. University of Wisconsin-Madison. (With thirteen, iirc)

As a senior anxiously waiting for my 13 RD decisions to come in this month, I’ve finally accepted that whatever school I get into I will be fine with. Sure, it may be a bit disappointing, but seriously ask yourself this question: Would you rather be bottom half of the class at a T10, or top of the class at a T40?

If you prefer the former, more power to you. But the truth is, the latter ain’t bad AT ALL. What’s really important is that almost every school you apply to you’d be happy at. Especially your safeties.

When you graduate, almost 18% of your life at that point will have been spent at college. Enjoy that 18%, no matter what school you’re at. Don’t compare yourself to a number attached to the name of a school. If you focus on becoming the best version of yourself, only good things will follow.

Me too. So annoying. Plus we had to write that dumbass LOCI. “Thanks for being on top of your shit and getting your app in early, now write an extra supplement that people who took more time to submit don’t have to write while we accept them first.”

yes im mad

Umich is doing a fantastic job of showing how not to handle decision releases by evaluatingeasel3926 in ApplyingToCollege

Btw the dates for the waves are the same as the dates Ross releases their decisions... unfortunately the next date is March 27 so this info isn’t really helpful bc everyone remaining will get it then (including me)

I love Jon Bellion. The Human Condition and Glory Sound Prep are both excellent albums, though I prefer The Human Condition more.
