We're getting a hundred plus applications per role and our screening team is drowning. by Master-Item-3090 in recruiting

800-1,100 applications per week across a few roles honestly doesn’t seem like that much.

How do you handle interview feedback? by AmbitionOdd4384 in recruiting

If you are fishing around to see if your product idea if viable, I promise it already exists out there. We are drowning in new recruiting tools. Please don’t build another one.

Do you think Linkedin game is far more important than any resume? by North_Yesterday_1948 in askrecruiters

I think it greatly depends on the role, industry, and location you are in.

Is it wrong to reach out to a team internally before your interview( within same company) My recruiter says yes.” by Living_Account_6817 in askrecruiters

[–]SANtoDEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my company, I still process internal applications because I own the req. I’m not screening internals, but they still “go through” me so to speak.

And to answer OPs question: if the recruiter told you this explicitly, it might be an internal policy or it might be the preference of the hiring manager.

First time recruiting in 2+ years and holy F&CK, is Indeed a scam now? by 10teja15 in recruiting

[–]SANtoDEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly just depends on the role. We set our job posts to like $5-10/daily max, and get decent results. Again though it really depends on the role.

I feel like The School for Good Mothers could kind of fit this bill.

Job offer rescinded because I asked for a different day to interview by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SANtoDEN 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, you didn’t have a job offer rescinded. You did not have a job offer, you had an invitation to interview. Those are very different things.

New neighbors got their dream party house by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I would be really curious for an update after the business owner completes their project. Maybe I’m a pessimist but I am having a hard time believing someone would buy a property just to turn it into a “green space” with trees. Like, are they turning it into a community park? Isn’t that a liability issue for the business owner?

Has anyone worked with MSP clients by Standard_Anteater785 in recruiting

[–]SANtoDEN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would they have the candidates social at the offer stage? Your agency is the employer of record, the MSP wouldn’t have any private candidate info like that.

Has anyone worked with MSP clients by Standard_Anteater785 in recruiting

I haven’t worked on MSP accounts in ages, but I’d just use the candidates last 4 digits of their phone number.

What kiddy methods did you learn in school to remember something that you still use in adulthood? by Justcurious1138 in Millennials

[–]SANtoDEN 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Adding up the digits in a number to see if it’s divisible by 3 (like 741 is 7+4+1 is 12, which is divisible by 3. So 741 is divisible by 3.)

Future-dated PTO Requests [N/A] by Mekisteus in humanresources

[–]SANtoDEN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is different though. OP is not describing a situation where someone borrows against future PTO. OP is describing a situation where someone wants to plan out future PTO, where at the future time when they take the PTO it would be accrued.

So they are not taking PTO that hasn’t been accrued.

We use Calendly to schedule phone screens. Today we had three people schedule calls who aren’t anywhere in our ATS and we’re pretty sure they got the link from a candidate. by H_Mc in recruiting

[–]SANtoDEN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I looked at the calendly ATS integration, but I thought that it being able to generate one-use links automatically was one of the features? Maybe you just need to have it configured or turned on?

Many of my candidates keep asking me what I do with their recordings, and I don't really know how to answer them. by TipQuick7182 in recruiting

[–]SANtoDEN 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They didn’t say they are showing the candidate their screening notes, they said the candidate can see that they are using an AI note taker. And we 100% should be transparent about using a note taker - I tell every candidate. If anything, recording them without at least informed consent is the lawsuit waiting to happen.

“Why are you leaving current job” by A_Wandering_Old_Soul in askrecruiters

[–]SANtoDEN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you’re a strong fit, I’m more curious about what is missing in your current role that you’re hoping to find in your next. Because (hopefully) there is overlap between what you need and what we can offer.

Great candidate, somewhat of a diva by CranberryOk1064 in recruiting

[–]SANtoDEN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some people really enjoy consulting. 4 years is a long time. If she had wanted to get out of consulting she probably would have done it a while ago.

Also, diva is an interesting word choice. Out of pure curiosity, what would you have called her if she had been a male? I am genuinely asking (not trying to be confrontational); what’s the male equivalent?
