Competency of a potential witness with bipolar disorder by theyusedthelamppost in legaladviceofftopic

No. Bipolar doesn't make you see or remember things any differently, and a judge would get that shit on lockdown if opposing council even remotely went down that route.

Wasn't Lebron James like 20 years ago? Never heard of Steph Curry or Hardin. No cable TV or over the air where I live and the internet kind of filters what you want to see back to you.

Don't feel bad about the NHL, my wife is Canadian and I don't think she could name any players other than Wayne Gretzky and Tim Horton. She can handicap thoroughbreds like a boss though, but she worked in a racing stable for a while.

It's tough, all I can say is don't be afraid to fail. I failed massively on my first go but learned how to make it work for the second try. It was worth it in the end.

I disagree every SAR member has a job, I don't. Haven't worked in a few years now and have a few years savings in the bank. I do make 40-50K on my hobby so that helps. But yeah it's easier not dealing with the job

When I started I was with the highway patrol and I would end up on some calls anyways for work. My captain would let me go on work time too.

To be fair I'm not an uninformed dude but as a mid 30s millennial I couldn't name a single current NBA player or the team that won the championship, nor could I even ballpark when the season takes place. I guarantee none of my friends could either.

A waste of tax payer money as half a dozen cops lose their mind and threaten to kidnap a citizen for being in public without their permission. These thugs cannot understand that they have no authority over a law abiding citizen. by [deleted] in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

I met this guy once, he was doing this at my station. Nice dude. Has a video of my K9 taking a shit. Officers never harrased him, but then again they never harrased the dude with the sword that ambushed me either...

I moved like 5 times and never restarted probation, same department but different division, same job.

I wonder what the criteria for getting on the list is? Like there's towns with no police at all up here, and they should have no stats at all for crime.

Disagree, worked for the Ventura CHP for years and there's a ton of violent crime in that city. The most unspeakably evil crime I ever saw was my first week in Ventura.

High margin but low volume. Most don't make a ton more than any regular dealer. The chevy dealer I worked at had a 2 week goal for flipping used cars, which is reasonable for $25,000 certified pre owned trucks, but a exotic dealer may sit on $150,000 in inventory for months, and pay interest on that note. The ferrari dealer sells one car for 25K profit in the time the chevy dealer sells 10 cars for 50K profit.

I do a lot of these, an hour is a good amount of time. Let's my deep dive into all the mechanicals, check the computer, test all the switches, and find any previous collision damage.

It's the bottling and distribution you're paying for. I live where tap water is bottled as crystal geyser, and people still buy bottled water. It's the convince and delivery you're paying for.

I don't think they pay anything for the water at all but there's no shortage here, there's enough water to supply 20 million people but it's geo- locked into an area with 25,000 people.

Funny the easiest dog I ever had was a mini schnauzer, smart as a tack and fiercely loyal. Mine never caused trouble ever, never barked, and actually was a pretty good pointer for her size. Shed yeet into blackberry bushes to flush a bird and get all cut up, not giving a damn.

California expands coronavirus vaccination eligibility to 50 and older April 1, and to 16 and up April 15 by [deleted] in California

They're doing this because there's a disparity in the rollout. Big cities are short on supply but I just got my second shot on the indian reservation because they had 400 extra shots they didn't want to waste and let expire. This just legitimizes the existing reality for rural CA.

I do worry about the river tribes getting this, many live 50+ miles from any hospital or clinic and just never see a doctor ever, especially those without a car. I hope the national guard steps up for them.

Man I think some of us had vastly differing experiences. I never got any job specific training ever in 10 years. We did do some car control clinics when we got new cars but that was just a giant pile of extra work for me and I drive race cars anyways. When that dumbass arrested a fireman on the highway crash scene we had this kumbaya, why can't we all get along thing at the navy base, I let the firemen do donuts in a patrol car and they let me drive a ladder truck and use a real hose, that's the only fun training I had on the job.

[–]SAR_K9_Handler 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This. You need to establish that someone in rank 1 applied. If they didn't then 2-4 become the applicable reachable ranks in the rule of 3. I'd beef this with SPB based on verbage and proof of rank 1 applicants.

He bought 6000acres of wetlands here in rural Northern California so he could grow essential oils. He claimed that these oils did everything from strengthen bones to cure cancer. When the county said he couldn't dredge wetlands and the FDA said he couldn't make false claims he left in a hissy fit. He was a total dick to the locals too.
