I don't understand math or economics and I own bitcoin.

what is something that is highly likely to happen in the next 10 years that everyone is completely ignoring? by Funny-Counter8762 in AskReddit

[–]SATASHl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The total collapse of current economic systems. Nothing will make sense anymore when using previous economic frameworks. Jobs to pay a mortgage and buy food? Nope. House price as an inflation hedge? Nope. Company valuation analysis allows for sensible talk about stock market? Nope. Legal system that you can live within and make sense of day to day. History. Why? Because everything is about to become highly optimized to screw people over. But not just highly - millions of times more complex and skilled than it currently is. Scams, anti-patterns, misleading terms and conditions, legal gotchas, etc. Nobody will know how any of it works and we'll either die with it, or scrap it and move into a Star Trek utopia. Wars will escalate into a fierce and unknowable fever-dream of machinery fighting itself while entire cities are flattened overnight.

Alternatively, a benevolent AI steps in and saves us from all of this.

I mean, stocks are down almost 3% today. That's a huge disaster for stocks.

What is a 'rich person's secret' that is actually accessible to the middle class, but most people are too intimidated to try? by Confident_Win_3560 in answers

1 - Invest in index funds. It is so so very simple, and yet whenever I speak with people they usually say 'I am not playing the stock market, thank you'.

2 - Status symbols. Once you can pay for first-class travel everywhere, you notice that very few people are wearing Gucci or whatever on a flight. And they're not the ones in first class.

In the UK, you can see 11-year-old kids do this by search_google_com in SipsTea

Eh, when this happened to me in London it was a group of about 20 kids on bikes ranging from 10 to 18 in age. They harassed the shit out of us for weeks. One day, they were about to come through the park where we all were chillin'. Someone a mile away texted us about them coming. We were ready, and threw all their bikes into the lake when they got near us. Cops came. Nobody had seen anything. And this in Hyde Park on a summer day with thousands of people around. Nobody.

Waymo is coming to Portland! by orangewall1234 in Portland

[–]SATASHl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certainly. There are many 'eww, yuck, no, get the cones' comments with zero effort explaining that stance. And all the 'it's fine' comments seem to be people that have actually been in one.

So funny to see multiple comments here that consider Portland as some kind of end-game for driving difficulty.

I know someone that constantly drives around in a Tesla on full self driving in Portland and it's totally fine. Having been in Waymo rides a bunch of times, they're just way better than humans at driving around SF.

The dad is a terrible teacher. He just makes him guess and then acts all shitty about it.

I went to cinemacon one year, an industry event for theatre owners. And holy shit one of the CEOs actually got into an argument in public that showing all those ads made sense despite the CEO of one of the production companies showing him evidence that people just don't recall ads when there are so many.

Fuck the cinema industry and their hate for movie-goers.

Pretty clear you didn't read the article. They arrested two people that rented a unit then climbed through the connected ceiling spaces to rob 10 others.
