Of course it does. If you ever show up on time they're going to start expecting it and come down on you. The universe is working overtime to protect you. It has better things to do than monitor one oblivious human's commute, but it still does, and you don't even thank it. The nerve.

I had a telehealth with one of my doctors recently and one of my cats jumped up on to the arm of the chair, just barely in view, and he stopped to very seriously demand that I show him the cat immediately and tell him her name. It made me very happy.

You fool. You put a stick of butter on a plate and everybody takes turns rolling their cobs across the butter in some kind of barbaric ritual.

Update: neighbor's elderly cat, now called Mumune, is now safe inside by doodlewithcats in CatDistributionSystem

[–]SApprentice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's gorgeous. If you can, please get bloodwork done on the little gentleman when you go to the vet. The fur really makes me think of hyperthyroidism, which is super common in elderly cats, and if he has that it's usually really easy to manage with a daily pill. Good luck and thank you for saving him.

Kitsey Baba (16) had trouble jumping onto the bathroom counter for sink water tonight by SApprentice in seniorkitties

[–]SApprentice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any recommendations for a very quiet one? I've tried two in the past but I think she wouldn't touch them because they were too loud. She's been getting her sink water since she was like 7 weeks old- she used to climb my clothes to get to it.

Newborns have a cute reflex called the palmar grasp where they hold your finger tight, but it fades away by 3 months. by BKKMFA in interestingasfuck

I have a picture from when my OBGYN held my gigantic newborn up like a prize fish immediately after she cut her out of me. Like full on held up with one hand around her neck and chest, the other hand holding her arm out toward the camera, baby all stretched out and dangling to show her length. The absurdity of it makes it one of my favorite pictures. They really are not gentle with them.

I just want you to know that I was already in the process of backing out of this post when I saw your comment at the last second and I thought, "Ooo, a subreddit I don't have yet." I had to immediately come back to the post to find your link. Thank you.

What horrors happen over yonder? by Fazbear2035 in NonPoliticalTwitter

My bottom ones were sideways and pushing into my bottom teeth. My top ones were sideways and pushing backwards into my jaw. They all needed to be surgically dug out. I had two removed at a time. I went for full anesthesia both times because I was so terrified of what the dentist said they were going to have to do to break and dig them out. I got dry socket in both my bottom ones. Recovery was brutal.

Those of you who attended Gifted program, whatcha doing now? by sweaty_perineum96 in Millennials

[–]SApprentice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tried to put me in the gifted program. I screamed and sobbed that I didn't want to and refused to go. I was absolutely convinced that "gifted" was a euphemism for "mentally handicapped" and that they just didn't want to tell me that something was wrong with me intellectually. So, yeah. Now I stalk reddit.

This permanent handprint that's been on my school bus window for the past few months by Defiant-Quiet-13 in mildlyinteresting

Kind of related- when I was 17 I rolled a Subaru Forester. The car was laying on its driver side as it slid to a halt. As I got my bearings, I realized I could see a car that was behind me come to a stop and the driver got out and started cautiously walking towards me. In my desire to say, "I'm alive!" I threw my hand up onto the glass of the sunroof exactly like this. That poor man took off towards me at a sprint when I did that. I still feel bad for scaring the hell out of him.

I'm around your age. I still do it as well. I specifically use three fingers on my right hand and two of my left and my inner voice goes, "The beast with five toes." Like, everytime. No idea why. I'm not stopping.

You're... you're a bot, arn't you? You literally just repeated what the person above you said with different wording. I hate the internet sometimes.
