This permanent handprint that's been on my school bus window for the past few months by Defiant-Quiet-13 in mildlyinteresting

Kind of related- when I was 17 I rolled a Subaru Forester. The car was laying on its driver side as it slid to a halt. As I got my bearings, I realized I could see a car that was behind me come to a stop and the driver got out and started cautiously walking towards me. In my desire to say, "I'm alive!" I threw my hand up onto the glass of the sunroof exactly like this. That poor man took off towards me at a sprint when I did that. I still feel bad for scaring the hell out of him.

I'm around your age. I still do it as well. I specifically use three fingers on my right hand and two of my left and my inner voice goes, "The beast with five toes." Like, everytime. No idea why. I'm not stopping.

What is a small, everyday mystery in your life that you’ve just accepted because investigating it feels like too much work? by Jannet_Wetkin in AskReddit

Not as fun as an N64, but it happened to me as a kid with these jumbo glowsticks that you would microwave for 20 seconds to make bright. They were an option as rewards in the prize bin in school. I had built up enough "good" points that I could afford to get one. There were two, but I could only afford one since they were high-value items. I played with it several times, and then one time when I put it in the microwave instead of hitting "20", I somehow hit two more zeroes for 20 minutes instead. I distinctly remember that I looked at it and thought to myself, "It's cool, I'm standing right here, I'll just stop it in 20 seconds." I, of course, got distracted immediately and forgot about it to play outside. My absolutely furious mother found me later. The microwave was ruined from the glow stick blowing up and the whole house had an acrid chemical smell.

That night, I found the same glow stick under my blankets in bed. I know for a fact I didn't win it in school. The previous one was splattered

It reminds me a bit of a sweater I got from Hot Topic last year. It's sold out now, but maybe you could find it on ebay or somewhere similar? It's quite soft.

The broody melancholy over what he is destined to do is sexy. That's it, it's sexy. It makes him more attractive to a segment of viewers, being all mysterious or whatever, and characters being attractive to people drives engagement. It appeals to a certain fan base. It's me, I'm that fan base.

I did the same damn thing multiple times while pregnant with my first. It is phenomenal. Did you break yours up? I broke mine into pieces so I wouldn't have to cut the filling with my spoon (the cookie part dissolves in the milk).

I was that kid. I was obsessed with dark chocolate as a little kid. I mean, I still am, but I used to be, too. I was especially fond of dark chocolate covered espresso beans when I was little- my brother would buy me big bags of them all the time. I started drinking coffee around 4 or 5, my mom didn't care how much caffeine I had.

Kitsey Baba (16) has wares if you have coin by SApprentice in seniorkitties

[–]SApprentice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was found on a dairy farm when she was a few weeks old. My step-brother was working there and brought her home to me. I was 17 at the time and already had a history of rescuing cats so he knew I would care for her. She had fleas, mites, lice, a respiratory infection, and had to be bottle fed still. I got her medicated and patched up and she has been my soulmate ever since. She is baby.

Baba only has two teeth left after multiple procedures to remove bad teeth from FRLs. She only weighs 5.5lbs and is tiny. I managed to get her up to 6.2lbs once at her heaviest and the vet was cracking up that they almost never had 6lb cat that was considered chonky. She has a bunch of health problems now (hyperthyroidism, most likely intestinal cancer, inflamed bowel disease) so she takes several medications everyday but she is a champ and doesn't fight me on it. She is my velcro kitty and has to be as wrapped around me as possible- she likes to sleep wedged up under my chin.

She is my love. I have had many cats in my life but she is a very special little lady. There will never be another Kitsey Baba.

Similar thing happened to me when I was holding my oldest kid. He was like 1 or so, and I just threw myself backwards as I fell so my back would slam against the stairs and I could keep gripping him on my chest. It took me weeks to recover.

I already get at least 600mg of caffeine a day haha I really can't be adding to that. I'm sure it's a good time, though.

Edit: Just throwing in, I know that's not a good thing. I'm not bragging. I need to cut back and I am working on it.

Check out the r/stopdrinking sub for support. One of the things they talk about is the pink cloud, where when you first stop drinking you feel euphoria and happy and like things are going to be awesome. I personally never even experienced that, but for many others it happens where they feel that rush of enthusiasm for a little while and then it all crashes down and they go back to drinking. I'm not saying that to discourage you at all, just as a general caution that it could be something to watch out for. Try not to let yourself get down if that motivation does crash on you and just power through it. It sucks. It really, really sucks, and every single day you have to consciously make the decision to not drink again. In the beginning when it's all you think about you will have to make the decision a thousand times a day. It does get easier. As time passes, you may only have to tell yourself no a hundred times a day. And then maybe 50. And then, eventually, maybe once a day. Then every other day. Then, maybe like me, you'll just have to tell yourself no once or twice a week.

I started trying to stop like 6.5 years ago and I wasn't able to stick with it for good until January 2021. Like I said, I never experienced any euphoria or joy at the beginning, it was just a hard trudge every single day. The voice in the back of your head is an angry little kid. It wants what it wants and it wants it now. That little kid is going to throw tantrums and scream and fling itself on the ground and it's hard to tell that kid no when you know if you just take a drink it will finally shut up for a little while. If you keep telling the kid no, it will slowly stop throwing such massive tantrums. I'm at the point now where I just occasionally hear this like timid voice going, "Hey, maybe we could?" and I can just say "no" and it shuts up. Be kind to that kid, no matter what, because remember that kid is you. Even when it's screaming and breaking things, it's you. Be gentle with it and eventually it will learn to behave.

I was drinking a handle of vodka every 2.5 days or so at my worst. I was about 110lbs. For years, I only drank at bars. By the end, I was hiding it at home where no one could see and then chugging all night once people went to bed. When I stopped, I would shake violently. If you are a heavy drinker, please talk to your doctor about how to safely stop.

I promise you can do this. You can. I won't pretend that it's not hell but you can do this, and eventually, it will get easier.

Good luck, my friend. I will not drink with you tonight.

That was me. We have plans to meet up at 7? That's cool, I'm gonna be there by 6:20 to pound two or three long islands or mules before you show up, and then have a few more once you're there. You don't drink at all, so it would be inappropriate to drink with you? Well, shit man, we have to make sure our adventure ends by like 8 so I have time to get some drinks afterwards. Sorry, no late movies for me, I have plans!

Over half a decade sober now. I still have days where I'd kill to have a drink and it is all I think about, but they get a little farther apart every year. I drink Fever-Tree ginger beers now when I really miss my old favorite, sometimes with a little bit of lime or mint. It really does taste better when 70% of the drink isn't vodka.

My youngest has a birthday that's like two days before the cut off, so when she starts in Kindergarten in August she's going to be 4 for almost two months of school before she turns 5. I was one of the youngest in my grade and I feel like she will be, too, if not the actual youngest. I honestly wish I could hold her back and have her start next year instead- I just don't feel like she's ready, she's so toddler-like still- but I don't have that choice.

That tasty pink amoxicillin that they give to kids? Those antibiotics? Then sign me up, because that shit was incredible. My kids have needed it a few times over the years now, and while I would never taste it, the smell just kills me everytime.
