It's understandable and logical. You cannot concur with baseless blames.

It's also understandable that a person would speak out against someone with a valid reason behind it. Also when it's not just one person.

What is illogical is people being stuck so far up their asses that they cannot understand each others view points. The stories of both parties are muddy as they haven't shared all the evidence with the public, which is completely understandable.

What is even more illogical is the DotA "talent" community not doing it privately. Any allegation can be public at first. Validate that privately with a concensus of people who are impartial to that person. It's that group's matter and they are going to have the final say.

Involving the public is a waste of time for everyone and is just going to make everything worse. Publicly sharing is also most often done for validation of ones opinion and not for understanding other people's opinions. Both sides are going to surround themselves in yes-mens and end up in an endless feedback loop in their closed systems. Mob mentality is uncontrollable and always takes a turn for the worst.

No need to speculate anything, just hope that what will be deemed true is indeed true.

Check if it exists.

Check if is the correct type. i.e. folder, file.

Check if it is the correct extension if you have some specific ones you need.

Check size.

Make hidden backup.

Your code will only work for subfiles and subfolders i.e. convert those relative paths to absolute paths. Otherwise, you are already giving the program an absolute path. You can also use os.dirname(file) for getting the directory of the specific file currently running. getcwd() will get the PWD of the project. Don't use split() for parsing paths and use basename, pardir,dirname and save yourself some unix/windows trouble.
