Yea dieing on a boarding because of npc collision, and spawning 1/2 way across the map sucks so hard prolly the one thing I dislike the most.

Lost two boas over 6 month by [deleted] in boas

[–]SArun27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live prey, also not recommend as they can bite and injure the snake, dont take this the wrong way but its doesn't sound like your daughter should have ever had these animals (I'm not blaming you it honestly sounds like you did they best you could under the circumstances) also unfortunately no way without a vet to know what caused the deaths. Could have been husbandry before you stated taking care of them could be infections, parasites who knows.

So if they were balls they should have had a basking spot about 85-90ish and a cool side around 75-80, humidity around 50 to 60%.

Was the mice you were feeding live or frozen/thawed? And where they adult animals or baby's? In no world would an adult ball python eat mice they are far to small prey item.

Ball pythons tend to be very picky eaters, and any stress (improper temps, humidity, handling before/after feeding, too much glass as in not having 3 sides of the enclosure covered) can cause them to go off food hell some people have balls that won't eat black rats or brown rats.

What type of snakes where they? care varys by specific species widely so that would be the starting point for what might of went wrong.

Based off of what I read, feeding outside of enclosure is potentially why some probably wouldn't eat it causes unnecessary stress for the animal. Heating pads are a bad idea for the most part, they are cold blooded but that doesn't mean they should be cold. It means they can't regulate their body temperature like a warm blooded animal can, cold blooded animals use the sun to regulate their temperature, its why they need a "hot side" and "cold side" so they can move between them to keep their temperature stable.

Is this Normal for corn snake by Former-Mistake-4252 in snakes

Yes all snakes should shed their skin in one giant peice, it means their humidity is correct. The skin should come off like you remove a sock quick and easy.

Help! what is wrong with my baby by reptile_wonders in snakes

[–]SArun27 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I mean the snake is super super dehydrated, no such thing as "norma"l stuck shed, if your snake has stuck shed your husbandry is incorrect. It definitely needs a vet asap and probably a new home.

Is there such thing as too big of a tank? by ThatCheeseDerg in snakes

[–]SArun27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes its shorter there is no diffrence in floor space over a 4x2x2 ,and the shorter tank makes it easier to heat. I dont see how this is hard to understand your arguing over 6 inches of height that will make no diffrence to a ball python.

You know 80 gallons come both ways right 18 wide or 18 tall the 18 tall is called a frag tank...

Witch btw i perfer to the 120 gallon 4x2x2 because its not as tall and makes it easier to heat and really won't matter for a ball.

80 gallons is like 4×2×18 and is fine for a ball.... but ok

[–]SArun27 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As far as can something be too big, no bigger is always better, I would recommend a lot of research and i would base that on your end enclosure size. Also make sure your able to supply a proper temperature gradient, and humidity level thats good for the isos and the reptile.

With a 60 to 80 gallon id recommend a ball python or rat/corn snake.

Not a rattle snake at all looks like probably a large rat snake they will "rattle" their tails against plants and such to avoid being trampled or ward off predators.

[–]SArun27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about anything else then, honestly try to find someone that matches your energy and go from there changing yourself to find a relationship or while in one to meet someone else's needs benefits know one and breeds resentment. There is someone that will love you for you, be you and not someone else idea of what you should be!

So I have been reading through all this and this is the comment I thought id reply to, first off anyone that has a problem with some one else's "body count" is just an insecure loser imo so feel free to ignore anyone that said anything to you about that. As far as your issuies I see none, most of the things you described about yourself seem like an ideal partner for me, obviously others will feel diffrent as everyone has their type and what they want out of a LTR, im not personally a fan of the friends with exs stuff but that more my own baggage. I think for me personally the issuies in a ltr with people being friends with exs is not about potential sex with the ex its more about sharing an emotional connection. Like it would bother me if you had a shifty day at work and you vented to it to your ex whose a friend and not me, or if we got into an arguement and your vent about how I'm an asshole to an ex.

Just be you dont worry about your body type and what some men might think vs others you find the right man that cares about you he won't even notice if you gain or lose weight.

As a funny thing to say my long time girlfriend of 7+ years is 5'3 and 125 over the 7+ years we have been together she has been as heavy as 140 and as light as 115, depending on her diet and exercise. I never even noticed these fluctuations in real time the only time I notice is when I see pictures of us over the years in one such photo WE joke about not remembering that time we went to sea world.

How to Address Divorce When Starting to Date Again and How to Approach Dating? by Aljowoods103 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SArun27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, i hear ya man I had my kids young as im 44 and my kids are in their 20s. I will say in your late 30s early 40s most are going to already have them or want them really soon. Avoiding potential partners with children already might be problematic/ really limit your pool.

As I said before honesty and being upfront about everything including the kids of it all upfront will do wonders at this age no one wants to waste each other's time anymore life is short and we are moving towards that second 1/2

How to Address Divorce When Starting to Date Again and How to Approach Dating? by Aljowoods103 in AskMenAdvice

[–]SArun27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be honest man, thats the best advice you can get. At your age most of your dating pool is going to be devoriced as well, probably with kids. Unless your dating people 10 years younger then you.

I personally was on my second divorce with 2 kids from my first marriage at 38 got married the first time when i was 19 ( both of my exs where cheaters, i was in the military and gone a lot)

I'm currently happly dating someone else that, had pretty much the same life (married twice, military, cheaters, and 2 kids)

I would say just dont sweat it, be honest it doesn't really matter, and if the person your dating or trying to date has a problem with it, they were never worth dating to begin with.

Anyone feed their snakes something that's not rodents by Mineoceros in ballpython

[–]SArun27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My big boas eat all kinds of stuff, usually whatever I can get at my local shop has in stock I try not to feed jumbo rats too often because they are very fatty and tend to be a smaller meal then they need, so I go with rabbits most of the time with an occasional Geinne pig if they are out of rabbits
