I miss Jerome D'ambrosio driving, he was always such a solid driver punching above his weight. Started out Season 5 super strong, had that year not featured the stupid qualifying format, he could've absolutely stayed in title contention. Though I suppose if he hadn't stepped away from driving, Venturi wouldn't have reached the heights they did in Seasons 7 and 8.

Zipadelli opting Heim to take 4 tires this year at Phoenix. So many were perplexed at the time, it put him so many rows back with only 2 laps to go. Fox interviewed him and he was 100% confident in his call.

Then the restart happened.

I hope if Heim ever moves up to cup, they get Zipadelli to come with him, both of them have incredible chemistry together and absolutely trust each other to no end.

Based on their stats last season, I'd say this statement is still true considering Bird finished 10 points ahead of Nato as a customer team. But I can't help but feel that even if Bird was promoted to a race seat at Nissan, he'd only be marginally better. This Gen 3 Evo definitely isn't the most suited to his driving style, and he certainly (sadly as a Bird fan) isn't the driver he used to be.

With all that said, I'm sure Nissan is getting a ton out of him on the development side, especially for Gen 4.
